City's "final offer" which came last month turned out not to be their final offer. Who knew?!

Incredible bit of business by Liverpool. Sold a player worth 10million at best for 5 times that.

Hilarious from city. 200k a week and 49million for someone whos significantly worse than Ashley Young <laugh>

Gutted to lose him personally. He'll go on to be a cracking player.

He's better than Young but City better hope he starts well since he's very brittle. A bad start and that £200k/week is going to be the running joke for 5 years.

Hes not better than Young (based on last season and both at there best. Youngs a good few years ahead and wont improve though but as of now, City have bought some average guy for superstar money.

He's not the first player to be a ****. Still undoubtedly gifted though, and it's another one of our top players jumping to a better club, regardless of the price.

I can see getting £49m is good business for us especially for a player who is refusing to be involved with us anymore.

But the big picture is that every summer at least one of our better players leave. Last year, it was Suarez, sterling this. Not to mention Gerrard who has also left.

Can we really say our team is better than last season's? Will Firmino make all the difference? Our awful reality is that should he become a success, Real, Barca, or city will recruit him and there is absolutely nothing we could do about it.

Exactly. This just go on to proves that we're no longer a destination any more, we're just that final step to one of the top teams in Europe. Besides, £49m is a decent price, but in reality where's that money going to go? On more dross, who will be screaming are dead wood in the seasons coming.

I would tend to agree with him,a little more on Sterlings price (£25m maybe) but I think Milner will be seen as very astute business in
    the fullness of time

Yes this team will be better. Lallana will have more impact and Clyne will be an improvement on Johnson. Milner will have a better impact and suit us better than Gerrard and if we perform like we did without Gerrard last year, then we'll win more.

Firmmy won't be any worse than sterling was all year

On the flip side - Milner turns out to be average, ends up like Johnson, high wages with no buyers. Clyne turns out to be overrated and Lallana remains injured and inconsistent.. While none of that is guaranteed is it just unlikely. We're letting/let go off Gerrard and Sterling, two key players and gambling. The only one I'm confident is going to be quality is Firmino, all the other signings are purely 50/50 (besides Milner who I think will be a decent addition). Let's be honest, where is this £49m going to go?
