The team time trial has finished with Sky just a second behind BMC, which means Chris Froome keeps the yellow jersey. So, as I can now concentrate on the tennis, it decides to start raining.
I have just had to chop the veg in the lounge while watching the tennis as I couldn't take myself away from it. By the way, a one dish dinner of spuds, carrots, parsnips, celery roasted with thick pork belly strips laid across the top!! Just popped it in the oven for an hour and 40 minutes.
I've been flicking between the tennis and the cycling, which was also pretty exciting. Just as well the Test Match finished yesterday!
Yep cracking match this one .......the wife is cooking today as I cook every night in the week. And I love belly pork in fact bought some today that was reduced and popped it in the freezer.
This tournament seems to be the perfect example of why Federer has only won one Grand Slam in the last 5 years. He still has enough in the tank to raise his game and beat Djokovic or Murray (and Nadal in the past) in some matches but he can't consistently perform at that very top level any more. Murray has a similar problem, good enough to beat the best but not good enough to do it consistently.
I think that's a bit unfair Puck. He's been the model of consistency throughout this tournament. Djokovic has raised his game here.
Well it's not really intended as a criticism. He's still a very good player, just not quite as good as he used to be and Djokovic currently is. Personally I think it was a little of both today. Djokovic has obviously played really well but Federer hasn't hit the heights that he hit against Murray (serve not quite as good, more errors) and he needed to be there or thereabouts.
I think Quintana's the biggest threat. He's a beast in the mountains. Could have some quality battles.
Lewis Hamilton kicked out of the royal box at Wimbledon for failing to adhere to the dress code. *rolls eyes*
