......... I have a very good feeling about the forthcoming season.

There was such a huge change with softly spoken words & common sense, from Advocaat, that I can't wait to see what he can do in a full season. He's such a cool fella I'm sure this will be a season we'l never forget.

I always feel thT way before the season lol.

Last year it just knew that Gus was going to get us to the top 10. The year before the mad Italian was going to lead a revolution at the club. The year before that MON was building a team for the future!

I know exactly what you mean, but objectively Advocaat is the best manager we've had in a long long time and everything he does gives me confidence that this time actually will be different.

Advocaat is to you what I hope McLaren will be for us. A huge breath of fresh air.

I'm hugely optimistic right now. We need some attacking quality and until we get 'quality' rather than quantity then I'm prepping for a season of struggle. Hope for the best prepare for the worst

Spoken like a tried and tested supporter. At least under Advocaat we will not be doing anything experimental for our players.

Until the playing staff improves we will be bottom 6. Yes the plodders we have can step it up when it's on the line but too many half arsed performances mid season, Hull at home last year stands out. Gifted a 1-0 lead in 5 minutes and then hopelessness. Half arsed tackles. Wasted passes and all initiative gifted to Hull. Too many non triers need to be shipped out Yet for me to be cautiously optimistic.

Having nailed my colours (and my bollocks) to the O'Neill flagpole and also feeling hugely optimistic when sanity prevailed and Gus Poyet was appointed, I'm trying to remain positive yet somewhat distant from Advocaat until I see his first 11 in a months time.

He is a hugely charismatic figure and has undoubtedly earned his 12 month shot at the EPL but words sadly, as we have all too many times witnessed, are cheap whereas actions cost money. I like Dicks talk but have yet to see his walk.

Once he has flexed his enormous forearms, delved into the transfer market and quality first team signings are made (not potential for next year) then I'll be in a scenario where I'm able to comment on his managerial abilities. The early signs are good but we need quality bodies through the door now and desperately so if we are to void yet another stumbling, relegation haunted season.

If you don't get quality through the door, would that strictly be the fault of Dick? He doesn't sign players.

Yes because I'm expecting him to have a huge influence on the club. If he's just going to be shelved in transfer proceedings like all the other failures then what's the point? We may as well get Ricky Sbragia back in.

He is only with you guys for one season though. Any player you chase is likely to know this and might not fancy the uncertainty of the following season.

I doubt it makes any difference tbh ....... McClaren could be gone by Christmas if the bedsheets come out.

Not the same thing at all. Dick only has a one year contract and everyone knows it (or those who would move to you should know). Surely that will impact players decisions regarding the following season and if the next manager would want them.

If not, good luck to them!

Your question could be answered very quickly fella as we're on the verge of two quality signings who'll improve us massively.

So long as we sign enough quality to see us safe nice and early it will put us in a great position for next summer window and also to attract a better head coach on a long term contract then what was available this summer. One season at a time at the moment. We've gone about it the right way imo.
