Liverpool have been linked with Gonzalo Higuaín as Real madrid look to bring in a new strike force.

I personally would love this signing as i believe we are still a bit short of options up front, its looking like Kuyt maybe pushed into a wing forward poss and N'gog is a no go.
Although not sure we have the money after the purchase's so far and would like to see a leftback come in to link up with downing.

He's a quality striker would be happy to have him as back up, can't see him being happy with that though.

Agree - Higuian is a top player and will expect to be starting more often than not. Wouldn't say no to him though!

Want him as back up!? He's Real Madrid's best striker, why would they sell him to you? I think this has to go down as one of the stupidest articles i've read on here if you actually believe it!

Laziest journalism I've ever seen anywhere. Absolutely no chance of us signing Higuain!

Didn't say I believed it. My point is I don't want him starting ahead of Suarez or Carroll.

    Liverpool linked with Gonzalo Higuaín.

Because of course we believe every single one of the stories linking us to 166 different players.

I think Carroll will be used mainly against the weaker teams, open them up down the wings then get it on carrolls head or from corners and free kicks. My worry is that he is a bit slow and has a tendancy to give the ball away a bit to cheaply which you can't afford in the big games, but he's still young and this could be remidied if he's given time to improve.
Saurez has a great work rate and looks like he could become a real legend but he hasn't proven yet that he can score 20+ goals a season.
I think liverpool relied on goals from the midfield in the second half of last season and were a bit lucky that Miereles and maxi obliged. I would be happier if we had another option up front just in case we need to change a game a bit like hernandez did for manure last season.
Maybe a younger player who is happy to get some sub app's later on in games would be more suitable, sturrage would fit our critieria and I rate him.

This would be some sort of divine intervention if it actually happened. The boy outscored Ronaldo during his first season at Madrid didn't he?

Higuain would be firmly ahead of Carroll if he signed, but it's a squad game.

How can you say that? 4 goals in 11 appearances is a good start to life in the prem.

These are his stats from Ajax- 2007–2011 Ajax 110 (81 goals)

    Think he can score goals!

Real are said to be interested in Tevez because they need a striker. Why would they sell a good one when they need another?

Suarez hasn't proved that he can score 20 goals a season.
He's proved he can score more than that...as his record of 117 goals in 148 appearances for Ajax proved.

I don't think he'll score as much as he did at Ajax, but he's a strong favourite in my book at least to get 20+ this season. Possible contender for highest scorer too.

Can't see this story happening. He's one of the best strikers in the world and he's at Real Madrid.

He would cost a fortune and I believe there are other areas we need to strengthen first.

I don't care who scores the goals- if Suarez continues to dance round defences like last season and create goals he'll be a success.

Don't get me wrong here guy's, I didn't mean that i don't think Suarez is not capable of scoring 20+ goals a season and i hope he does get top scorer. However if he gets injured or has an off period then it would be good to have a different option up front as we can't afford to drop points if we have an serious title ambitions. Kuyt is good but not really a game changer, maybe one of our youth players can fill this gap but i think it needs looking at.
