10-0 to the Super horizontal stripes. Ben Gladwin is going to be a massive player. Can't wait for Monaco, although this one might be a bit more difficult
I have just read on LFW that we played with nine men for the last ten minutes. Any idea why or who went off? I would hate it to be for Ale feeling his knee!
I think we could probably knock up a Not606 team to give them a harder test than that! Always good for the confidence to rack up a few goals though
Think it was Nedum and Galdwin ,they went off just as a precaution or because we were winning so comfortably
To be fair it was pretty decent of Verona Stars to step in at the eleventh hour to give us a game. They were poor but it's just about racking up the minutes fitness for the players, and as u say good for confidence to rack up the goals.
11/07/2015 By David McIntyre Chris Ramsey insisted there were no concerns over Nedum Onuoha’s fitness following QPR’s opening pre-season friendly in Italy. Onuoha and young midfielder Michael Doughty went off before the end of the 10-0 win against Verona Stars, meaning Rangers finished the match with only nine men. But head coach Ramsey said Onuoha, who has previously had hamstring trouble, was brought off as a precaution as the defender had played the first 45 minutes and then come back on during the second half. Ramsey explained: “We managed the players and took off Nedum Onuoha and Michael Doughty – they’re not injured, it was just to be on the safe side.”
I have mixed feelings about this. While a high score line against a poor team might increase confidence, that confidence might evaporate even more quickly if you think you're good and, when you come up against a proper team, you realise you may not be as good as you thought you were.
A win is a win is a win ....................... enjoy it, take the confidence with you to the next game. After being in the PL, it is nice to have a 'walk in the park' as opposed to being walked over.
It means a lot, confidence wise, for a forward to put the ball in the back of the net, games like these a really important, they will know that they need to up their game against Monaco... I am loving the way the team and club are building right now.
I see your point, however I'm sure the lads were well aware that this would be pretty much like a glorified training session...Let's see how they fare against more equal opposition.
