I can't see DeGea staying but if he did that would be a major coup for United. Bearing in mind that De Gea is Spanish and is under pressure from his woman to go back to Madrid. Even if we let him go on a free in a years time !

I still have a sneaky feeling he will stay. Before the season even ended he said he had a big decision to make in the summer and would have to do a lot of thinking. We fly out on Monday and it would seem the decision is harder than he thought.
Thing is he comes across as a pretty decent bloke. You're right he probably is finding the decision hard. I wouldnt begrudge him whatever decision he decides on. Hope thatfeeling of yours is right though
If he goes he has earned the right. I am far from convinced with Valdez though, have seen him a couple of times for the U21s and he looks shaky.
Dont think De Gea wants to go. Its all his girlfriend. Hes happy here, loves the club and is the best keeper in the division. He has the full support of every fan and the club which is something he wont have at Madrid. He never will. All he needs to do is look how Madrid heros are treated.
United in an even stronger position. "whats that Perez, you have no goalkeeper now?" "£100million and hes yours. Thats GBP not monopoly money" "erm, (Spanish cus words)"
As long as he makes the decision I see him staying. If he lets his girlfriend sway him, he will be unhappy at a miserable club.
Hes surrounded by good friends too. Literally the only reason he may go Realis his missus. I doubt he misses Madrid all that much either, he left it and settled here quickly (despite Mirrors Donut nonsense).
Valdes will definitely be a step down. But then name me a goalie who isnt. I'm not even sure I'd have faith in Lloris to replace him tbh.
And that's while playing for Spurs. Imagine the step up for him to United. Agree with Cech. If we're going to teplace De Gea I'd want someone who looks commanding just to counter the other attributes of De Gea that I think we'll find it hard to replace.
Madrid seem to be replacing Casillas (plural) with Casilla (singular). I for one, am in favour of this move.
