...and that would indicate that you want to start a philosophical discussion on Beefy's

Well said perhaps, but it automatically flags up the notion that people are beginning to distrust Les & Co. Now, there will always be people who won't or can't trust anyone. But, in the main, I believe Les to be fundamentally trusted to do the right thing, on the whole.

I completely agree with Fran's earlier comment about one mistake not meaning the club is in ruins and I also think it's something those who complain about criticism should remember. When a poster on here says "How disappointing. I think we look a little silly now. The club could have handled this situation better." it doesn't automatically mean they want Les Reed sacked or believe the board are terminally incompetent in every way.

Not that much will change. A version of this positive vs negative conversation has happened on this board in each of the last two or three summers and no doubt a similar one will happen next year.

Which is human nature. Some people see things positively some see them negatively.

Which is why it could be that god did not make mankind, rather mankind make up god. (Now that is for beefy's!)

Just listened to the interview again and what struck me was that he stated that selling players was no longer part of the business plan. That it interesting in that he must feel that Saints are totally self-supporting now, including staged payments for transfers (which was what caused Nicola to fall out of favour). I cannot fault the communications from the club really. They don't comment on rumour but tell it like it is when they feel they need to.
Oh, and Fran, regarding your deification, I note your use of "whom" rather than "who " and think you might be have a case.
