I've given this question seconds of time and have to agree. That goal is still the most painful experience I have ever endured watching football. Strangely, I actually like Everton. Proper club, great fans. But that day and that goal .....
Don't we usually endanger our players during preseason...first fire walking, then skiing....perhaps bungee jumping or cliff diving this time.
I can see reasons for (and agree with) many of the selections on this thread but this one astounds me. What has Darren ever done to deserve this
Can't honestly say there are any players I can be bothered to waste emotional effort enough to dislike. Indifference is about all I can manage. However, I always think quite negatively of Ian Branfoot, and that comes fairly easily to me. If we extend the subject to directors and staff then I can get quite annoyed thinking about that sh:t Guy Askham.
You use a lot of bad language when talking about Twatbeard and Lolvren, for someone you only have an indifference towards
Fergie's actual son Darren was a thoroughly unpleasant character as I recall from whenever we played Peterborough.
Dont hate anyone or any football club. I have shouted & sang all sorts of bad things at Saints v Pompey games, plus at games against other clubs, but for me it ends after ive left the ground and returned to ' normal life ' ! Some commentators irritate me though - J Pierce, A Townsend, etc - and i was once in the company of Alan Green and really didnt like the big-headed swine, but i certainly dont hate any of them. Dont even hate my ex wife, and im quite a bit poorer because of her !
I have a strong dislike for some managers.....Poyet.....Pulis......'arry and Allerdyce, to name a few. As for players.......Here I'm having difficulty. There are a few that I disrespect IE Lallana, Lovren and a couple of others. That though is because of the way they treated our club.
Isn't it obvious that all this is aside from Twatbeard..? Otherwise everyone would be mentioning him. Btw, I really don't give two hoots about Lovren. But you're right, I easily dislike Twatbeard these days and like Branfoot and Askham, I'm not sure when that will fade. I assume you went for Adrian Heath.?
You'll have to excuse me but I had a forced internet switchover to Talk-Talk (talk-talk buyout) on Thursday morning and my telephone and broadband are still completely out (switchover obviously going flawlessly) so I'm accessing all this from my mobile phone account, which allows me unlimited Internet but no free tethering, so I'm really not able to moderate properly until further notice (colleagues take note and apologies for not letting you know, but I thought the matter would have been sorted by now). Anyway, the point of saying all that is because I've only just read your entry FLT. I don't think I ever really let Adrian Heath's goal get under my skin. It just knocked us out of the FA Cup semi-final and that was it. I can't even remember the circumstances properly anymore.
Can't say I dislike but there are many empty heads, namely Wilshere and Sterling among the current crop of internationals, Beckham for being the most fawned upon person by the media, players who constantly cheat (Fabegas and Drogba amongst others)
Has to be Adrian Heath for me. That moment, shaped my footballing dreams for the next 30 or so years. Every time I hear there has been a 'Heath fire' I hope. I also have always said that even though I'm a non-violent type, Ronaldo has the face that I would like to punch. (I wouldn't though as I think his football skills have largely won me over).
