A bit of perspective here. Schweinsteiger is a great signing but in the last 2 seasons he's only played 64 games in ALL competitions (dont know how many were starts). With Carrick in a similar situation we really must buy Schneiderlin.
Sensible bit of planning really. High quality cover for Carrick. Something that ig we had last season, might have made the difference when Carrick was injured. When he played we were almost unbeatable. Glad its been addressed with just about the best possible player for the job and at a steel to boot!
Lets not start polishing our helmets just yet. Still a few signings needed. Carrick and Schwein may very well do a job next season but Schneiderlin plans for life after both.
Great player in his day, may be a little past his peak, but definitely still got a couple seasons left at the top level and a great amount of experience to offer the team. If reports are correct, and you are getting him for around £5m then its a very astute signing.
