    Wijnaldum has signed!

Just picked myself up off the floor. Didn't think we would get anyone this summer! Hopefully the flood gates have now opened...!

Steve McLaren has a "double six" role lined up for Wijnaldum apparently.

It's where two central midfielder lie deep but one stays back and one goes forward.

It's used in Germany and Mourinho used it last season to great effect with Matic and Fabregas.

Seems like a great signing. Hopefully he can translate his Dutch form to the Premier League. It's a shame that Matip has said he's staying put. Still, a move for Veltman is being talked up now and McClaren said we were close on two more after Wijnaldum... Mitrovich + Veltman?

His scoring record is great. Dutch league or not it's worth considering.

Yeah this was very unexpected. Between this signing and SM impressing so far, i'm feeling good about the season. Veltman is a decent young player, small, but would pair with lascelles well. Would prefer N'Kolou but either would keep willo one step further from the starting 11.

I agree with your sentiments fella, but you've got to start somewhere and starting with top quality is a good thing, enjoy it.

In Reality there are two possibilities

    1. He flops
    2. He class and is sold with 1 to 1.5 seasons

    1. He won't
    2. So what, be realistic, you stayed up on the last day of the season, players see that. This is a massive coup if not a little bit pricey but if in one season he's helps you achieve safety early than it puts you in a much better position for next summer market where you'll attract better players, repeat improve, repeat improve. You want Champions League football back you need to wake and get behind the fact it's going to take year on year of gradual progress for the foreseeable future. You're not going have a 100m+ window spend on top 4 quality.

Then why do you even bother? Just go and support Citeh or Chelsea if supporting gradual progress isn't for you, there's fans of 15 other premier league teams in the same boat. That's competition for you. It's brutal. If you can't take the heat and all that and except the inevitable set backs.

What would make you happy? Nowt apparently.

I am happy you're just another imbecile that perceives statements of reality as being negative, however being correct whether you like it or not is actually positive.

Not at all, i never question the accuracy of your comments. But your comments are negative. Instead of focusing on the on topic reality of a great signing, you chose to go off topic and focus on the negative of your overall squad, a comment that could only ever achieve relevance once the window had closed, not after your first signing otherwise it just a pointless irrelevant fact, ready made to throw at whoever you signed. It's as negative as it comes. If you sign a striker next maybe youi could focus on your defensive problems. Keep it irrelevant and negative. :p
