Didn't see it. Worst part of these tours is the inconvenient kick off times when you have to work in the morning.
I managed to catch some highlights this morning and we looked very good in the attack, all our goals were taken superbly and very well worked. Who did we have in goal? Looking forward to our next game!
I watched the game, Young had a very good game putting a lot of good balls into the box, including some good corners which is something I think we lacked at times last season, Fabio and Anderson also played very well and Park had an impact coming off the bench playing some good balls and making some great runs netting himself a goal, Owen and Macheda finished their chances well, although Kiko could of easily had his hattrick if he was a little more alert around the box at times. Berbatov should really of had a couple of goals as well but he was the one player that really did look like he was lacking a lot of match sharpness. Lindegaard looked solid in goal, he kept hold of everything that came near him and used his feet well when needed, the one goal he did concede was from a free kick (which I thought was never a free kick anyway) that got a huge deflection. *edit* Here's a link for the highlights for anyone who wants to see them. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-NN...er_united_highlights_ne_vs_manchester_united/
I try to like MLS, I really do, but when their press come out with stuff like this my head hits the desk...
They are American which should tell you something. Their citizens would be the brightest stars in the sky.
We were a bit lacklustre in the first half which was to be expected. Rafael didn't get forward that much but Fabio was much more the aggressive, which was more impressive as their right mid was ridiculously quick. Not many people can beat the twins in a foot race but that guy could. Young was impressive, combined well with Rooney especially and played in a number of very good crosses. Berbatov and Rooney were a bit rusty in front of goal, both squandering good chances that I can remember in the 1st half. Their goal, as mentioned was lucky to say the least. I think Lindegaard could have had a cup of tea before he would have saved the free kick if it had not taken a major deflection off a Revolution player. All of our goals were classy finishes. The build up play for Owen, Macheda's first and Park's goals were brilliant although the defending wasn't amazing. Macheda's 2nd was a very good touch and shot across the goal from a tight-ish angle at the back post from a corner.
