Perhaps not. However if money was his motivation, he'd still be there. He probably knows now, that he is not, and never will be, PSG level. Great signing for Palace but he will be gone after the Euros, I suspect, anyway.

Not sure how you could know that! Chances are psg are supplementing to get him off the books. That's what normally happens with these deals anyhow! Who cares... He's a dirty **** and I hope he doesn't get away with it at Palace

No on the contrary. He's a top player. But he is one of the dirtiest I have ever seen in modern day football. His last season at the mags I watched him commit more bad fouls than anyone Andrews seemed to let him get away with it. Then he played for France and it was the same. Not sure what it is but he seems to get away with it

You're missing the point anyway. He is now at Crystal Palace. Hardly a hotbed of footballing success is it nor is it the top, top club he clearly thought he should be at. He was never PSG quality. Everyone except him, his agent and Laurent Blanc knew it.

Can't fault his ambition imo, it didn't work out but he's just signed for a cracking team, It's not like he's dropped on his arse. Palace has a far superior squad to Newcastle.

Oh dear........ His return has hardy been mentioned by Newcastle fans. Great player on his day, but a ****e attitude. Pardew has signed a player who several times tried to leave and actually went on strike.

Seems to interest you lot more than us tbh. <ok>

No thanks to their current manager. That being said, SHOCK HORROR, we have made an early signing!

As I said, I was not against his move. I am well aware we are a stepping stone to the bigger and better clubs. It was the way he did it that ticked me off. That being said, he did pull the same stunt at Lille to get his move to us in the first place.

Last team to sign anybody though. The rest of the league started early too. :p

Early by our standards mate... Besides, he was worth the wait. He will be our Sissoko replacement I suspect anyway. Watch Siss go the same way as Cabaye <laugh>

I'm not worried if he plays where Albert wants to play him<laugh> Great player though, don't know why we weren't interested. Seems wide men are the priority first.

Wijnaldum is far more productive and technically superior to Sissoko, I can see the logic in him leaving but he won't get that 'top 4' move he thinks he is worth. If Mourinho sends out Ramires and brings Sissoko in he's lost the plot.

Wijnaldum was one of the best players in Van Gaal's World Cup squad and he's transformed into a top class box to box player, I'd be excited about the guy if I was you. Couple of solid defenders and a new front man to partner Perez and you have an exciting squad and a ****ing world class coach.

Cabaye to Palace is still baffling me, surely there were other options for him!

Where does ACS want to play him? He is, by trade, a box to box midfielder so that is where I would have him.

Wholeheartedly agree with this mate. I would argue we need a left back too seeing as Pardew so nothing (foolishly) in Santon. The only worthwhile defender we have is Janmaat and he really is far too good for us <laugh>

Problem with Cabaye is he has been benched for a while and then injured. At 29, which top level clubs are going to go in for him. I wish him well but his impact on them won't be as big as it was on us (he was a very, very big reason for the 5th place finish)

Same here, He wants him deep in a holding position next to Colback. He also want's Perez on the left flank. <confused> Seems to love square pegs in round holes, he put down his ideal finished team and half of it is out of position <laugh>
