We need a goal keeper We need a defender We need a midfielder We need two strikers. Come on city let's be having some news sooner rather than later.
Does anyone read anything into the article written by Smith on the club site, regarding the tight knit squad and how important it is ? Whilst acknowledging what he says as being true, I wonder if it has any bearing on who we have avoided and who we have attempted to sign. I hope we don't let an obvious asset become a stumbling block, i.e. becoming too precious about the club moral to risk signing good new players...
Rickster, I read the Korey Smith article and thought we wont be signing many, if any. Introducing new players to a very successful outfit is tough ask. It's down to SC to decide whether any new player could possibly break the undeniable camaraderie the squad enjoy. I'm not sure we currently have Championship quality players in every position. Something else, we wont go through another season with so few serious injuries or suspensions. Cotterill was able to pick virtually the same 11 every week last season. I reckon we need at least 4 new faces.
I couldn't agree more. We have Championship quality players, but we now have weak areas where we didn't before. Our site is now dangerously light, and although we were initially in a position to make strong signings to challenge for the first team, we've left this late enough that we're probably going to end up signing cover players or making panic buys.
Agreed. We need a replacement for JET (letting him go may well come back to haunt us) and support for Wilbs as I don't think he has the legs to play 90 minutes every game. Replacement for Elliot - now he is no longer part of the playing staff we are missing a captain Competition/support for Fielding - whatever you think about him, he is the only GK we have and if he gets injured we are fooked. For the first time since Carey left I think we are ok at the back, but a big strong CB as competition/support for Flint would be good.
