Can't believe people are using these open boxes. You still have to pay and have limited choice? I guess open box owners aren't brave enough to take the full plunge into Kodi

We've already discussed the merits of streaming vs dish feed. Lets not bore on that subject again.

I use TVMC when I'm out and about but much prefer having an Openbox at home. Apples and Oranges.

Kodi only works off the net, internet goes down so does your Kodi stream ...openbox works from your sky dish

My internet doesn't go down. Openbox has about a tenth, if even that, of the content of Kodi. Kodi is free, open box isn't. this was a thread about using kodi instead of Sky, open box amateurs should really start their own thread?

You can buy it separate. I found my line provider on cs-kings website. They have a whole section of the site for people to sell you them. Takes a few mins to get approved on that site with the introduce yourself thread but worthwhile.

The only advantage of buying one with the gift is that it is pre-set up. Usually costs a little more than buying separate.

Most providers will set you up a free 24 hour test line so you can try before you buy (and get the hang of setting a line up before you hand over any money).

Someone has to pay or all the programs you watch for free wouldn't exist.

Trouble is when free is so easy to get it's hard to resist.

I'd be happy to pay sky something if I thought I wasn't funding the ludicrous money that is currently washing around in football. These guys are just not worth £150k a week or whatever it is they get these days, the premier league shouldn't be seen as a final massive paycheque for ageing foreign players. I like to see money in the game but I think just now there is too much and I'd like to less of it and distributed more equitably amongst the premier league and the football league. Take some of the heat out of football and make it affordable for all.

I completely agree with regards to premier league football, the money is obscene and not paying the TV companies to watch is a sensible and logical way to protests that.

However with regards to TV and movies I like to support the industry, especially the indie movie and smaller TV networks.

I'm still not sold on Kodi. For Sky sports it's fine when it works but often what works one day doesn't the next, for no obvious reason.

Rang to cancel Sky today after calculating I could save over £100 by taking up Karoo YouView offer and Now TV Entertainment package.

Sky instantly offered me a £140 per annum saving for the same package that I'm already on.

Robbing bastards. I accepted their offer of course.
