I'm going to Lincoln uni in September and it appears I've spent too much time contemplating whether or not I should renew and make the journey every other Saturday and Tuesday. I'll definitely be going to the Huddersfield, Fulham and Preston home games and possibly the cup game away at Accrington Stanley. Shame. I liked my seat but such is life.
Chazz had the first go, Happy the second go ... ok I have taken the bait. Ignore them Bret...Lincoln is a lovely place to study, and a lovely place to live. What course are you taking?
History. I was going to send you a PM but I forgot. Chazz tells me you're a lecturer there. What do you teach?
Speaking of History and Lincoln Uni, wasn't it the outcome of the merger of Hull College of Higher Education/Humberside College and Lincoln College to form a new University?
No HGS66 it didn't quite go like that. Lincoln College is a completely separate entity from the University of Lincoln. Basically, here is a truncated recent history that goes goes like this... The Hull College of HE became Humberside College of HE, this became Humberside Polytechnic, then Humberside University. Hull City Council decided it didn't need two Universities and an offer came from Lincolnshire County Council to gradually move the University over to Lincoln. It became the University of Lincolnshire and Humberside and then the University of Lincoln. Until last month it franchised/oversaw many of the courses at Hull College. Hull College are now linked to the Open University!
Good old HCC. ****wits. I can just see Cambridge council saying do we really need all these different Colleges
My son has just finished a 3 year media degree course at Lincoln Uni. He loved the course, and Lincoln.
Hi Muffin, that's my area, now I'm curious as to who it was! You'll be visiting the lovely Cathedral in September then?
Many thanks for the history lesson, lecturer. What college was in Lincoln before the joint Uni opened?
I was only trying to be helpful HGS66. The Lincoln Colleges were/are De Montford University (now gone completely from Lincoln). Lincoln College of FE Bishop Grossetete (previously a college now a university).
That's usually it now until they launch half season tickets around Christmas....but then again, who knows if they decide to accept the FA decision it may be a good marketing move
