If he ends up not going to Man U or Arsenal, and is faced with a other season here, I'm certain he'll readjust his hopes and dreams and be open to Spurs. And no one wants that.
He'll only have a year left on his contract by then I believe, so we wouldn't get anything like that for him.
If Morgan was willing (or at least not paddy-flinging unwilling), perhaps it would be worth it to us to keep him for another season (even though he'd lose some of his value next summer window). Not that I actually believe that will happen, but talking about it is nice.
I'd happily keep Morgan another year. Buy Clasie who I think can play in any of the three central midfield roles and give him a season to bed in. We would still get £15m at least with a year on his contract
In the medium term Spurs are goimh up in the world when they complete their 61k stadium with NFL games to support their finances plus if the rumoured Facebook sponsorship deal comes off they will be flying. Add to that the attraction to young multi millionaires to live in London, what can we do to compete in attracting good players like Toby?
Arsenal have proven that can be done whilst maintaining a successful team as they will be able to attract and pay for much better players whilst paying the mortgage
We will have promised him we can go, but I'm sure that's only IF we get an offer which meets our valuation. Just because we promised him to go it doesn't mean that we have to sell him for £10m if no other offers come in.
It'll be Morgan's reaction that will be key here. Weirdly I really hope someone comes in with a sensible offer soon. Don't want to be in that position where he's feeling like he's here against his will - it could all go sour quickly.
Agree I can see this one running and running and getting messy. We know he wants to go and we know teams want him and we also know (pretty much) that he was promised a move last year. I just want it done quickly.
LVG reportable wants this sorted ready for their USA tour so should be D-Day today but not holding my breath
This mysterious promise to Morgan about selling him this year....we imagined it because we couldn't see why he settled down, but do we know it? He may have skipped out of the office with the idea he would be sold if any sensible idea came in for him, but is only just realising that Les's idea of sensible is everyone else's idea of insane.
