The BBC site are expecting him to sign for Wolves for a figure of £7 million. A good piece of business for wolves I think. Would we still have any sell on clause?
What are your thoughts on this signing?

Surprised a bigger club haven't come in for him. Should be in the England team.

this is a poor career move for roger , yes its the premiership but a very low end club and will definatly effect any england career he could have had and his reputation

I agree. At the start of the summer there was lots of talk about Liverpool and Arsenal going in for him. They both need a new centre half and at £7m Roger would have been ideal for them. I wonder if he had waited a bit longer a bigger club would have come in. Good bit of business by Wolves though.

This is confirmed, he has gone to Wolves. May not be such a bad move he really has a chance to shine and show England selectors that he is able to compete against the best teams and do his bit. If he went to Man U would he need to work as hard?

While I agree that Johnson could have held out for a bigger club, im interested why you think a possible call up to the England squad is tenuous. Michael Mancienne, Ryan Shawcross and Gary Cahill are all quality centre halves who have been given a shot playing for clubs not in Europe so I dont think its tenuous at all.
Ferdinand, Terry etc are not exactly sure of their places in a national team that has been under performing for years. I would say that now, for the first time in ages, England are willing to give young consistent PL performers a go in the team as the recent picks of Agbonlahor, Cahill, Baines, Huddlestone and Walker show.

To say that the chances of an England call up for a young, solid centre back who has had a couple of really good seasons in the top leagues and won a league cup winners medal are tenuous is pretty negative.

Ah ok, so you think its a status thing rather than a quality issue. You've probably hit the nail on the head with all that
has been wrong with our national team selection for far too long.

    GRR if I were manager......
