Except Saints apparently had a first refusal agreement but didn't get given the chance. Atletico were allowed to buy out this clause for £1.5m but apparently they did it after the deadline so Saints are saying he should be their player at £6.8m There'll be some sort of legal shenanigans at some point no doubt and Atletico will be fined any amounts received over and above he agreed fee with Saints. Doubt the transfer will be reversed. So says my Spuds supporting work colleague anyway.

I've noticed a lot of the strikers we are being linked with are over 6ft. He's free and, which is why I suspect we are interested. I would expect us to offer him a trial before we make a decision.
His name appeared on here a few pages back, I wasn't impressed them and I'm still not, he seems to fall out with everyone, he barely last a season at each club.
