No because we simply have to buy players. If we don't next season will suck the fattest dick imaginable.

We will sign someone. If you read between the lines in the fans forum though, they talk about making the right signings and looking ahead to future transfer windows. That says to me - January. Around about the time ST renewals are due. I think we will sign 1/2 players before the start of the season. Then, depending on how the season is going we will sell someone in January and buy another 3/4 players.

Yeah, I thought that. Talk of "the next three windows" is a bit poisonous, in my book. Simply put, it's going to take time to get people to stop hating the club. They're going to make it harder by not signing a good few, though, so it'll be a bit of a slog to see if McClaren/Cathro can actually polish the turd they got handed.

Not that I want to put a dampener on this thread but as at the minute I am writing there are only 2 premiership football clubs who have not signed a player in this transfer window. The two being ourselves and Crystal Palace who look like signing no other than Yohan Cabaye.

So no surprises that we are going to be the last club to sign a player if indeed we actually do.

Cashley - you must be winding us up.
This would be major concern but only if you read it like the mention of the next few windows means we are only going to add a couple this window. Obviously this is the same ****e spouted previously and we all know what happened then.

I'm not really interested in the fans forum stuff etc. Some feel that need, it means nowt to me. All this "I want the club to communicate" is all well and good but it doesn't cut it for me. It is a very simple process.

Mike Ashley has promised that we are now in position to invest heavily in the squad and punch well above our weight.
Our squad needs major investment this window and overhauled.
We now need to go out this window and get the necessary 4-6 players of required quality by investing said money.

I will take him at his word and await the unbridled excitement of major signings, major investment, it resulting in improved performance and us attempting to win something/qualify for the CL. I'm not saying we have to win something or qualify for the CL, I am talking about us at least trying which is something we haven't been doing. Trying would include investing in new coaching staff (tick), investing heavily in the squad in this window and subsequent windows, and generally having a go. I assume we will now be looking to overhaul our squad in this window and then look to continue that in the future by doing what other ambitious clubs do, continuous improvement through investment and sound structures.

If I see this kind of commitment from them I may be tempted to renew our seasons tickets. If its just more lies, I may not.

I'll see how it goes

I dont believe we will at all but, its been an open training session today and MSI Douglass one of the local Journo's has said he was talking to McClaren and was told that we hope to have 1-2 pleayers to take with us to the US. He also was cautious about the fact and said these deals can take time, but work is being done. One of the platyers is someone we have yet to be linked with!

McClaren has also said the club want to bring in 4-5 players and have identified them all.

Can we create a Transfers thread, instead of having a new one every time?

Stomach ulcer coming right up.

Especial when Pardew signs Cabaye to make Newcastle the only club not to complete a transfer.

It sounds like Mitrovic would rather eat out a Hippo's **** smeared arse crack than come to us, which is more than sensible, all things considered.

Tried them nearly every window but people seem to wanna go with seperate threads.
With all the signings we will make it wold get confusing to discuss 5 players on a single thread :)

Same story with Wijnaldum. Offer accepted, but "a lack of will from the player". I read an article by Don Hutchison talking about the transfer window where, normally, the players are sounded out in a roundabout way before anything else happens, which makes sense to me. Surely, above all else, the first and most important trait is a player wanting to come to your club? Doesn't really seem to feature highly on our recruitment drives.
