Our media is now reporting that Coach Preki from the local USL team the Sacramento Republic has just resigned and is flying to the UK to take over Leceister.
Preki as in ex Everton, ‘shorter the name the better’, Preki? If so, seems odd. For some reason I seem to remember him being a renowned 5 a side player too?
Not zero but it would seem unlikely. He is going to manage a club in the UK as he has said that on TV and the Sacramento club knows where he is off to manage as they had to give permission for him to resign. The leiciester link is coming from the staff of Sacramento FC according to our local news. My personal guess is that he is going to be their assistant manager, he wouldn't be announced for a few days anyway as part of the deal to allow,hi to resign was that he had to manage the local club until Saturday's game. Personally he just should have stayed here he could have had any MLS team he wanted. I'd rather manage LA for instance then be an assistant manager for Leicester.
Uh, I should say that the most interesting thing about this for us is the info that came out yesterday. Apparently Preki is involved with a sports consortium here in Cali that is moving to purchase one of the English teams that is for sale, which if we believe Allam includes us. The info was picked up by the Sacramento bee, they said that one of their sources said that Preki is not going to manage Leicester but is leaving to work with the group to purchase the club and then to be involved in the management of that club. It might be possible with the name change decision coming up on Saturday and the fact he leaves for the UK also on Saturday that we are actually who he is coming to.
It won't be to us, I don't believe Allam has any intention of selling. He'll either be going to Leicester as Bradley's No.2, or he'll be going to Wednesday(as the Leicester lads suspect), or he'll be going as a No.2 at a club we haven't thought of yet.
Wednesday would seem strange as it hasn't even been mentioned by our local news, not that they would have ever heard of them of course nor Leicester really. This isn't even a top story here, a cat clawing it's owner and the dude calling the police on the cat was the top story yesterday. This isn't even the top local sports story to be honest.
