Don't think I could do a top ten and some of my favourites are already listed. So I'll throw some names out there. The Cat The Hound Larry David Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson Paulie Gualtieri Papa Lazarus Lord Flashheart Dave Angel Swiss Toni Basil Fawlty

No particular order, and representative of my sad taste in tv shows Homer Simpson, given me more laughs than anyone else on tele Jack Bauer - 24, a truly selfless hard ass mother ****er Chloe O'Brien, added so much to 24 Spike - Angel/Buffy, horrific english accent in season 5 angel aside.... Xander - Buffy, a non-super hero Crowley - OK, so im' obv v into geeky monster type tv shows and Supernatural one of my favourites, Crowley the best character, hilarious and evil in equal measures Castiel - Supernatural again, 'hey assbutt' JD / Turk - joint nomination for chocolate and vanilla bear Cartman - Southpark, the Scott Tennerman must die episode was a true turning point Arya Stark - more infulenced by the character in the book than in the tv shows tbh, but still a top character
Basil Fawlty Homer Simpson Tobias Funke (Arrested Development) Hawkeye Pierce (*MASH*) Louie de Palma (Taxi) Jim Hacker (Yes Minister/Yes, Prime Minister) Burt Campbell (Soap) Carla Tortelli (Cheers) Eric Cartman Edmund Blackadder I can't believe there was no room for Fletcher or Rigsby. Or even Jed Bartlet.
Nobody watches Fargo then? Lorne Malvo is the best character I've seen on TV for years. Rustin Cohle is a close second (True Detective)
I usually watch something with Rik and Ade in daily. Surprised at myself for missing them out. Must be room for the Dreamytime Escorts. "What could be better than living above an off-license?" "Living IN one?"
Love all the Firefly mentions. My pride a joy is a copy of the shooting script of the pilot signed by Mal, River and Kaylee!
I don't watch much TV any more, and being a Yank my list is going to have a western hemisphere bias. 1. Barney Fife (The Andy Griffith Show) - best character in the history of television 2. Kramer (Seinfeld) - It helps if you actually know someone like Kramer. I do. 3. Jack Bauer (24) - Oxford English dictionary changed their definition of "badass" to a picture of Jack Bauer 4. Cordell Walker (Walker, Texas Ranger) - hated the show, loved Chuck Norris 5. Tyrion Lannister (GoT) - Probably should be #2 but I'm too lazy to change my list. 6. Archie Bunker (All in the Family) - Perfect caricature of the old blue collar American male 7. The Swedish Chef (The Muppet Show) - if for no other reason there are an unbelievable level of opportunities for parody 8. Niles Crane (Frasier) - Uppity and obsessed is an unusual combination. Frasier made it work in a hilarious way 9. Tony Soprano (Sopranos) - An emotionally conflicted mobster? Sounds cheesy. They pulled it off. 10. Mr. Spock (Star Trek, etc.) - A character so well made they can't kill him off, even when they try please log in to view this image
