Maybe Josh Simpson will fit that bill sensible.......Crawley fans are gutted that he has gone....they think he'll do well in Div2.

The sad thing is if we sold everything the club has, took all of the preseason ticket sales and added a full gate every home match to the pile we still might not have enough for Ronaldo's wages. What this World has come to..

We couild do that Sensible but which week would we have him for?

I read to day that Sergio Ramos is expected to stay with Real Madrid rather than move to Man Utd. He is looking for €10m per annum AFTER TAX. And he's not exactly Ronaldo.

Ronaldo must be on twice that notdistant. I mean, £10m is less than £200k per week for god sake and Ronaldo wouldn't get out of bed for that.

If I had to pick the fixture it would be boxing day at home.....

Derek Adams seems to be suggesting that he has finished at the moment adding players to his squad.....but he will be looking for a couple of loanees nearer the start of the season.....when most clubs have sorted out their squads......I wonder if any of last years loanees will be considered ?

After tax Sensible, after tax, equivalent to €18m to €20m per annum at UK tax rates - £0.25m per week gross for a 29 year old defender with a distinctly dodgy disciplinary record. What's £50k a week between friends though?

I think in Spain (and possibly Italy too) football clubs get some tax dispensation which allows them to pay star foreign players much higher take-home wages than would be the case in the UK without incurring the full cost themselves. Thank God we don't have that here: there'd be no British players in the Premier League at all if that was allowed.

Just to put this to bed, I applied for a job at the club , had an interview and then got called back for a second interview-hence my interaction with the club (and a bit of gossip). Found out that I just missed out to someone else, so back to normal and no insider info-I can still talk to you all. Will still probably be involved in organising this season's armed services day though, which will be v Wimbledon in April

Yep I know tax is thrown in for the poor wee players but the fact remains he still wouldn't get out of bed for that amount either. He must be on £300k per week take home minimum. His annual salary would pay the entire league 2 wage bill I suspect with change.

It was a proper job-combining my management expertise and passion for all things Argyle -competitive salary as well (well earn't at 6 days a week). But I know what you mean, i might have have to look for 'proper jobs '-or maybe just retire and do a bit of property development.
