I love our ridiculous, maddening, brilliant, wonderful team. Can't help it.

 

5-4 jay scores again!

 

Ft RB 5-4 Saints (juanmi, jay x2, cedric). Defensively poor but good attackingwise. Good run out for first game.

 

Wasn't worried about this one as we are just back from holidays and didn't play our strongest team. Winning would have been a bonus. Interesting goalscorers...bodes well.

 

So pleased to see Jay back.

 

Great start for the increasingly inaccurately-named One-Goal.

 

Going to get relegated now... Losing 5-4 to a **** team.

 

I'd hate to think how those on Saintsweb are reacting.

 

Good to see JRod scoring and smiling...it may only be a friendly, but to him that must be very important to play a competitive 45 mins. Didn't hurt the new ones to score either. As Ron said, the youngsters still need too much time and this was a step up for them. He's experienced enough not to worry about preseason games as the main thing is to get fit again after losing fitness during the holidays.

Always looking for the positives.
Last season, whoever played wide left, they never appeared at the back post, as JRod did for his first, nor did they make runs across the keeper, as JRod did for his second. Will give us more goal threat, without a doubt, this season.
Soares has a left foot, which puts him above Clyne in that capacity, and hit a beauty of a cross for the final goal, with his standing foot, having already scored with it.
And good movement by Juanmi, for his goal, and well picked out by Isgrove.

pleased to hear Leipzig are two weeks ahead of us in terms of fitness, as it certainly showed.

Only kids, but some experienced players two. JR scored two and the two new signings but even though 'the score doesn't matter' is this a sign of next season, score loads, concede loads?

Hope not....I was really proud of our defence. It made us seem special and an all round decent side....and I preferred it to our previous system of 'we will score one more than you.'
