I had this argument with my cousin the other day. I think Nadal is definitely a contender. but then again i wouldn't go as far to say he's undisputed as he has won less slams. For me the GOAT is when you are undisputed, say someone like Phil Taylor at darts or Michael Jordan for the bulls.

Why don't think Federer is clearly champion? He's got the most slams, stayed at number 1 the longers and has the most consecutive semis/finals (i think?).

Well for me, since Nadal started playing and being good followed by Djokovoc (admittedly Fed is now old), he's not been able to keep up. His head to head against rafa is rank bad in the slams (maybe nadals game matches up better).

I think its undisputed that this period is the strongest tennis has even been. Nadal Federer, Djokovic and people can even throw in Murray and Del Potro when he isn't injured. Since then, Federer hasn't really won anything at all and he won most of his trophies during a period where it wasn't that competitive. Nadal has had to do it during the greatest period of tennis players and he's only just 3 behind with time to spare (although sadly it looks like he won't be getting there).

So of course theres an argument for Federer being the GOAT but for me the GOAT should be that far ahead we don't even need to argue it.

Nadal on clay in his pomp was virutally unbeatable but that dominance wasn't transferred across the other surfaces, and for that reason he's nowhere near the best there's ever been imo.

Federer is up there with the best of them, it's subjective opinion as to who the GOAT is however, and there's plenty of variables to consider, but for me Nadal doesn't even come close.

You say that, but Nadal still has at least 1 on every other surface (same as Fed on French). He's joint 2nd on the most slams and he beat Fed on his favourite surface of Grass. I think it's actually been more difficult for Nadal to even reach that tally as (correct me if i'm wrong) the hard courts of Aussie and US are more in line with a grass courter than the slidey clay courts which Nadal excels at. He's also reached 6 non clay finals without winning.

Not sure you can use that as a reason as Federer has never excelled at Clay either

Of the two, for me there's no contest. Nadal was / is a fantastic athlete, but Federer was / is a fantastic technician.

I'd pay money to watch Federer, not sure I'd even turn on the TV to watch Nadal, that's the difference.

Don't get me wrong. If you asked, whos the most likeable and is most pleasing on the eye to watch. Fed wins hands down.

If you asked me whos the goat, i would say i wouldn't think anyone was the goat but at a push and i had to give an answer i would say Nadal.

If you asked me whos been the best over the longest time i would probably say Feds. For me Feds is like Ryan Giggs been the best over 20 years and giggsy was world class. If you asked me if he was the best ever in the prem, i don't think so but Giggsy won the award for it. (saying that Feds is closer to the best ever than giggsy was).

Currently I go for Nadal but all time great for me is Sampras. Never won the French so doesn't compare to Nadal or Federer but great player.

    Williams 6-2 Sharapova first set.

    Looks like a foregone conclusion.

Both Williams and Muguruza grunt a bit but it's nowhere near as ****ing irritating as those two blonde bitches Sharpova and Azrenka

Just a shame that it's gonna be the quickest womens' final in history as Williams will rip Muguruza a new fangita in record time (she is v good though and quite fit and will win big in the future)

I think the non grunters, grunt only if they're playing a grunter. I think they should have been banned from doing it before it took hold, it's ridiculous.
