i read today that Terry Bradbury , a midfielder I used to watch in my early days as a Blue, has won the National Lottery jackpot of £5.5m. He left us in 1962 for Southend United, but I have memories of him occasionally deputising for John Mortimore. I doubt there are many out there who would remember him....you'd have to be an old fogey like me, but he , like a lot of players of his day probably spend a lot of time bellyaching about the wages they get paid these days, and now he's got a years PL stars wages all for the price of one lottery ticket!
Six years before I came to London ,so don't know the player at all. If I can't win the lottery , pleased to see an old time "10 quid a game player" scoop it.
Just read the story on the BBC website. He says he has no problem with the money he was earning back in the day, or the amount the top players earn now, he says I was earning 25 quid a week plus win/draw bonus, the trades were on around £8 per week. He is going to look after his own family and ensure they never have to pay a mortgage. Enjoy your winning's Tel.
