yes you would hope that we would sehd quite a few before going on tour but it seems not

Lambert for example.. If there is any real interest you would think he'd be an easy one who'd shift.

Borini seems difficult as he is a bit of a deluded tool.

Balotelli is also difficult as nobody on the planet wants him

enrique is unfit and will find it very hard barring a loan

    Alberto is gone

    who else?

Aspas is gone (I think), Coates is gone, Jones, Gerrard and Johnson have all gone. Manquillo might be going.

Once the ones you named leave, that'll be a fair bit cleared out.

To be fair, so far it's been a fairly steady stream on the exits.

That would be called breach of contract so fine him two weeks wages immediately and force the written transfer request

Send him to Ireland with u21s

    #248
  9. Fine him, tell him to go on club tour anyway and another refusal will be deemed a beach of contract and disloyal (losing loyalty payment) to the club.

I would have him sent over to Ireland with u21s

My understanding is 11th July the U21's will play. Maybe the dregs of the squad like sterling will play in it. Him and borini.

Maybe Hash can go along and boo as I read it's Cork and waterford FC to be played

Most of the local journos mentioned it last night. <ok>

Also, Manquillo's loan has been cut short - officially. Shame because he's a very good solid, defensive option. Would be a shame especially if we end up using Wisdom or Can as right back, which won't help their development.

I'm assuming Clyne and wisdom will be RBs

Manquillo was tried and he didn't work. He was limited

We got Clyne cheapish for being English so he no longer fitted.

Hand on heart the boy won't make it in Atletico

This is thing though, why play Wisdom at RB? He's a natural CB and I fear the same could happen to him as it did to Martin Kelly.

Whilst Manq is limited going forward (although not as bad as he's made out) he was defensively on point. He has the basics of defending and is only 19 - look at some older defenders who still don't have a clue. He could have added to his attacking side - just as Ashley Cole did, same with Zabaleta - both of whom didn't really flourish until 25.

Ah well - what's done is done. Such a shame - I think the lad has a bright future elsewhere though.

Cos he's a solid defender and a unit..... built like a tank.

He's played there at derby and there at west brom. He is a decent player nd yeah he would make a CB maybe but right now he's not going to get that berth. His versitility has earned him that contract.

Just as manquillo inability to play Lb cost him.

I do not think a gy can add attacking prowess to his game but a failed winger can be taught how to defend. or at least the basics. this is why valencia is still at utd, no other reason.

ashley cole day one has the attacking side. the day he started at arsenal he had it.

I'll bet you we won't be hearing much about the lad. Prob will be on loan to lower league side or bottom or la liga this summer.

I'm happy we've cover the slot now. I think enrique is a big risk over on the left so we must wait and see. the swedish kid has not exactly said come and get me and digne seems to be not happening either so LFc will have to think hard about LB next. If manquillo had shown the barest bit of flexibility in playing there he would still eb here.

no flexibilty, homesick, poor attacking wise... he is young but i think he blew it.

    Even flanagan showed flexibility.

Hmm think it's harsh - I rather a player being solid in one position, then average in two.

Zabaleta, Azpi, Felipe Luis, Ivanovic are all solid defenders who added the attacking side to their game over many years.

But enough on Manquillo - we definitely need cover at left back if not a starter. I'm more than happy to continue with Moreno because he is talented and whilst he made mistakes, he was being asked to do a lot - as Gez mentions, Rodgers asks far too much of his full backs.

Want to get rid of Enrique ASAP - I don't rate him at all although he is top class at shielding the ball. But overall, his attitude stinks by all accounts and I think we need to get this out of the club. We need winners.
