Morning all, risque of storms this morning the Meteo says and I can hear some rumbles in the far distance. A bit cooler this morning, but temperature will be back in the 30's this afternoon, so off to do some building work now, then slump for a few hours, before the evening tasks take over. You can understand why so many towns and villages are deserted in the afternoons with the locals having an after dinner nap.
Just seen an advert on the TV for the up coming Test matches. I am sure it includes one of my old watering holes, The Royal Oak on Watford Heath. It was old fashioned back in the 50's and 60's, still taking a pint directly from the barrels that were set up behind the bar. Went in there last year and it has been enlarged and is nothing like it used to be. The bar staff were lovely and did all you would wish for at a lunch time meal. None of the ones I encountered were English.
Afternoon all. It's unbelievable that today is the 10th anniversary of the London bombings. RIP and thoughts with the families.
Evening all from a damp but mild Fort William. Second night of my road trip between weddings. Sitting in a nice local pub drinking a very nice IPA. It's my eldest sons 31st birthday today - he will always remember his 21st birthday for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully will meet up with BB for a beer tomorrow.
Finally sat down with a nice chilled glass of rosé. Mme finds a whole bottle too much so needs a little help. Have a pint for me w_y with BB. As two internet Hornets we do our best to keep the world informed on a Saturday afternoon or Tuesday night. (Hope one of us will know when our games are being played). Just found a piece that is full of hope for the club. Much of it I can associate with, even if he is not old enough to remember big Cliff.
