I'm beginning to think Toby has been kidnapped by aliens. Why else is he not doing what footballers do and having a public strop on twatter?

Last week my lad wanted a KFC. I took him for a drive through and the man serving got our food while taking other orders and when he gave me the final part, he said," enjoy your meal."
I replied, "would you like me to pay now" He said, "****, thanks mate.
I'm a saints fan, so I think that about equals out Saints level of unethical behaviour, so we are all in the clear

I've only responded to other people who don't seem to get what I'm saying.

I get what you are saying, but it's so minuscule it's hardly worth raising. In fact, it is not Saints responsibility to contact someone and say that they are close to a deadline. I don't think it is unethical or shady at all.
Then that may very well have been a foolish choice. Because there is no guarantee that we can enforce the agreement to get Alderweireld when 1.5m owed us for Atletico taking him back + maybe a small monetary fine for damages is a perfectly equitable solution. We took a gamble, and that gamble may not pay off for us. Moreover, how would we know for sure that Atletico was seemingly unaware of a clause that apparently everyone else in the whole world knew about and wouldn't just pay the fee at the last minute? You can't rely on that.
And it's very likely that we didn't rely on that. But instead we looked at a bunch of scenarios and the strategies we'd employ plus fallback options and mapped out some sort of risk and reward. This could be all part of a larger plan that works out well for us, perhaps even resulting in us getting Alderweireld. Or if not, perhaps we felt it was a gamble worth taking. Or even if it was a mistake, it's something that we can overcome. That's why we have the black box constantly churning out options for us for all sorts of contingencies.

Please can someone give me a brief summary of what's happening here? They don't allow phones in rehab so ive been out of the loop for 6 weeks!
Lots of rumouirs and counter rumours but very light on facts. We want him to stay, Toby apparently wants to stay. Spurs and Athletico have a different view.
Spurs appear to have had a bid accepted for Toby. But Saints appear to be challenging the legitimacy of that due to the contract we had with atletico. No one knows the details beyond that, so we're all making assumptions in order to support our spurious opinions. Meanwhile, lots of rumours and absolutely no genuine info is flying about.
