I didn't expect Froomey to get into Yellow. He did only get it as the result of being given a 6 secs bonus for 2nd place today. Leads Martin by 1 sec!

Terrible crash, but good to hear no one seriously hurt, but a great finish to the race, Froome looks strong, and already has a good lead over his rivals. Interesting day tomorrow on the cobbles.

My money was on Tony Martin being in yellow today. He is only 1 second off Froomey.

Can't believe he carried on riding. I was off my bike for 3 days after my crash and I'd not broken anything.

A testing day, today. 220km (the longest stage in this Tour). Seven pave/cobbled sections. Awkward, congested approach to Cambrai's finish.

It has been called a mini Paris-Roubaix...

A "mini Paris-Roubaix", how can anything be "mini" at 220km? <laugh>

Not only does Martin win, he gets to wear Yellow tomorrow.

    1 Tony Martin (Ger) Etixx - Quick-Step 05:28:58
    2 John Degenkolb (Ger) Team Giant-Alpecin 00:00:03
    3 Peter Sagan (Svk) Tinkoff-Saxo
4 Greg Van Avermaet (Bel) BMC Racing Team
5 Edvald Boasson Hagen (Nor) MTN - Qhubeka
6 Nacer Bouhanni (Fra) Cofidis, Solutions Credits
7 Jacopo Guarnieri (Ita) Team Katusha
8 Tony Gallopin (Fra) Lotto Soudal
    9 Zdenek Stybar (Cze) Etixx - Quick-Step

No Froome in that 10 ^^^^ but I guess we need to know time differences between the leaders

Yep, I know, Hessle. At the time I posted it, I didn't have the GC listing. But I knew that Martin's 10 sec bonus would put him first, as he was only one sec behind Froome at the start.

Thought Martin would come through today. Ger Thomas might nick a podium spot this year.

I blame it all on schools for not doing cycling proficiency test anymore.

Great Win for Tony Martin, though the ride of the day for me was Geraint Thomas, what a job he did for Froome over the Cobbles.

    Today's 5th Stage:
    17:57:43 CEST
It is a good day for German cycling, with Greipel winning the stage and Martin the first to retain the yellow jersey this year.
