I've got a lot of time for you man, but firmly believe we've got both got a lot of work before we become remotely appealing for truly next level players. All I can ask for is that the players we sign do at least improve us. Another summer of bad recruitment and it's relegation fight all over again.
Here we go. NUFC Confirm Lee Ryder is just ****er who's always wrong please log in to view this image Simon Bird @SimonBird_ 12m12 minutes ago Newcastle "early stages" of trying to land deal for PSV's Georginio Wijnaldum. please log in to view this image Simon Bird @SimonBird_ 7m7 minutes ago @SimonBird_ this is based from guidance from #nufc last night after reports earlier on Sunday from Europe that deal was agreed.
Isn't that the bloke Joe Kinnear was calling a ****ing ****? Joe mustn't have as much clout in the boardroom nowadays
Yep are and the Mirror are now Newcastle's official Media Partner Here for ****s and giggles. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...mous-f-word-rant-journalists-LISTEN-HERE.html I particularly like the Press Officer's deluded desperation.
He doesn't reply mate, he only posts on here in 5 minute bursts, in between taking his pet eggbox for a walk and stroking the cactus in the senior carer's office.
Simon Bird also confirmed that we'd signed Austin four weeks ago. Media partner or not, he knows the same as everyone else, which is nothing. Pete Graves admitted as much yesterday, said something along the lines of that as a club "NUFC play their cards very close to their chest". Which admittedly as a supporter can be frustrating but unless you're a top team in the Champions League you need to do deals quietly to prevent you from getting gazumped.
Wijnaldum is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs this summer, but PSV technical director Marcel Brands has confirmed to the official club website that no offers have yet to be submitted for his services. The report explains: “Marcel Brands says no bids have been received for the captain.” The midfielder, who captained PSV to the Eredivisie title last season, has been linked with a move to England this summer, with four teams said to be interested in signing him. De Telegraaf state that Newcastle are showing the most intense interest in Wijnaldum, although the Daily Mail claims that Sunderland are keen, as well as West Ham United and Southampton. The midfielder scored an impressive 14 goals in 33 games during the 2014/15 campaign for PSV, showing off his box-to-box ability from the middle third of the pitch. He adds drive and creativity to the side he is part of, and his technical abilities are undoubtedly at the top of their game. He is still just 24-years-old, and would represent a signing of real intent if any clubs is to agree a deal with him. However, no bids have yet been submitted, and although PSV may have no choice to sell Wijnaldum if a Premier League club does make a formal approach, as of today, the talented midfielder is still part of the future of the reigning Eredivisie champions.
Oh i agree fella, Bird and the Mirror are a laughing stock too, always has been. That's why the partnership amuses me.
You're right mate, we both need to spend £40m just to stand still. Shouldn't be too hard to spend that much with the obscene amount of money we get from TV rights.
40m is the figure I have. Going to cost us a fortune to revamp our attack. Bright side just the one quality Defender needed now.
