We could have done yes, if they hadn't been idiotic. Good drive from Lewis, but the gods were definitely with him today!
The Toby saga is cheering me up a little after my cbt fail. Everything went fine... But why don't bike indicators self cancel!?
And how would handlebars manage that.? Bad luck on the CBT fail. Loads of people don't manage it first time. It's not about being able to ride a motorcycle competently but riding a motorcycle to a strict set of rules. The difference between the provisional licence and the full is not about being able to ride a motorcycle well, but appearing to be able to ride a motorcycle well. There is a great difference. You have to do all the fringe bits that the law wants you to do. The actual riding skill acquisition is what part of the fun is about, and that comes afterwards. It takes time, patience, a little courage to do what physics knows is right, but your heart might suggest otherwise, and a selective, but watchful eye on those moving chicanes with a wheel at each corner. Good luck for next time.
Thanks for your words TSS. I've held a manual car licence for ten years, but have been driving an automatic for the last year. Going from this car to a fully geared bike (first time ever on two motorised wheels) fried my brains, and I was just happy for it to be over in the end. Having said that, it was the most fun I've had in a long time where I've been sober and I've had my trousers on. I am looking forward to passing the Test, and getting out on the road without the pressure of someone riding behind me, talking in my ear. I just need to remember to cancel those indicator lights!
