    If we're considering legal action then I'd suggest things aren't looking good. I imagine Atletico will just push through the deal with Spurs and the best case scenario is that we'll get some sort of compensation.

    Possibly, or AM may have well broken the contract they originally had with Southampton as stated. Would seem very odd that we'd threaten this if we didn't think we had grounds to do so.

    It does seem a little strange though doesn't it? Atletico supposedly sorted the clause out a few weeks ago and now is the first time we are hearing that they may have missed some deadline? Surely Saints would've kicked off about this earlier, especially if the agreed fee was around £6m and now Atletico are allegedly wanting £15m+

    I'm struggling to see that a professional top level football club would be that stupid - given the millions at stake.

    And regardless of the actual ins and out, if we do go down the legal route, then I can only see the outcome similar to what Puck is saying. A slap on the wrist for Madrid (and Spurs?), and maybe some compensation for us.

    But hey, if this were to suddenly mean that we're going to get Toby then, WOO HOO!
