    Is there still this thing about any club has to bid £1.5m more than Saints bid - or something like that - for Toby?

    i.e. if Saints match the Spurs bid, do Spurs then have to up their bid?

    <doh> Apart from London, one of the most up to date and state of the art training facilities in the world, several of his Belgium team mates, a better chance of achieving things and a world class 60 odd K stadium on the way. Like you say, the only thing Spurs can offer is a huge wage packet. Absolute comedy gold <doh>

    Come on guys no need to bite! Hopefully Toby saw enough at Saints last season to want to stay here. I think he'd be gone already had a champions league club come in for him and it's not like Spurs can offer that!

    Spurs are like some spotty kid hoping to get noticed by the big four. Chelsea, Arsenal and the Manchester clubs are on a different level. Arsenal view Spurs like we view Pompey. Nice for a chant but slightly embarrassing to be associated with.

    Spurs and Liverpool are on the level below the big four and find themselves in the mix with Saints, Everton and Swansea.

    But Spurs and Liverpool don't have the same upward momentum as Saints and Swansea. They don't have the same values or style of football and are looking over their shoulders and trying to buy our players and targets to stay ahead. They can poach our managers and our back room staff but they will ultimately fall behind unless they get a plan of their own.

    That is why the Toby transfer is interesting. Will he sign for an extra 30k a week, or will he go for the club with momentum? Normally, cynical football fans would assume that money talks. But Saints fans know Toby - he's smart, he just might choose the club with bigger potential and a plan of their own.

    How can you possibly claim we aren't direct rivals when we both competed, along side Liverpool, for 5th, 6th and 7th? That is directly rivaling each other? Any claim otherwise is, by definition, incorrect haha.
