Kvyat put in a good showing today, quietly getting on with it. Kimi was dumped into a bad situation there, was up with Vettel so could have been 3rd-5th.
Williams ultimate lack of downforce really hurt them in the end. Shame for them, if it stayed dry I think Rosberg would have struggled to get past them.
Well it's nice to see all the top three getting cheers from the crowd, they did have to work for it today.
Wondering if any action will be taken against Merc for admitting to dummying Williams by getting team to go into pits 'ready' for a stop. Toto was interviewed by BBC and even said they 'dummied' Williams hoping they would pit!! First Merc were covering up the car now making crews fake an imminent pit stop.... It was a bit naughty but I bet nothing is said. I would have loved Williams to win but they are not quite there yet. Mind you with the changes to starts coming soon might spice things up.
Andrew Benson @andrewbensonf1 5m5 minutes ago Toto Wolff on pit bluff: "I got a text - are you guys trying to bluff us or what?” From whom? “My wife. I'm having an Indian alone tonight”
the FIA gave them the equivalent of a stern look for illegally testing, do you seriously think they will do anything at all about this? As for the start, Merc have switched to a manual clutch after Tiny Tim blamed it (along with his engineers, as usual) for costing him the win in Austria. What effect will it have o the rest of the year when Merc don;'t have such a huge pace advantage as they did at Silverstone and both get away slowly
They're not the first team to have done it this year. Most probably cover it up with 'possible precautionary stop'. Adds to the intrigue.
"I did everything I was supposed to do but the clutch keeps under-performing." Tiny Tim post Austria.
It was what he said after Austria. Ern is just digging up old news to try and justify his point that Hamilton will try and blame someone else for the poor start.
The impressive thing that been missed by many of the pundits is the fact that Mercedes start wasn't actually that bad, it was just Williams having a mega start. Watch the start again here to see how the Merc's pull away from the whole grid bar the Williams http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/33402203
No, I said they changed the clutch setup because he whined and blamed it for costing him the last race, (like he and his Hamelots usually do when ever he loses, it has to be the team or the car.) Now this start, under his control, is even worse. Thank God for the strategists that helped him finally get past the slower WIlliams' go from 3rd to 1st, shame he didn't listen to them in Monaco.
As with many things in life it's believing what you want to believe rather than accepting what actually happened. The Mercedes start seems fine compared to the rest of the grid This despite Rosberg and Hamilton having different clutches. Ros on the Austria spec Ham on the original 2015 spec.
