Good question, but I am sure you got a big sense of achievement. I did conquer the ride up from the Bishop Wilton road up to Givendale which I have tried 3 times and never got up without stopping, but forth time lucky this week.

Well done on doing that one. My new carbon bike does make a difference. My Strava had so many pbs today.

I think your carbon bike will be half the weight of what I am riding, I will have to invest in one, one of these days.

Looking forward to todays stage. Might be flat, but the cross winds could really shake things up.

If a team works hard at the front of the pelton they can blow it apart.

Good to see time bonuses for the early flat stages reintroduced.

That's quite a high speed pile up. Be surprised if there's no retirements from that.

    Shame to see Cancellara involved.

All a bit of a shambles right now. Stopping the race at the climb? Never seen the like.

    Dangerous precedent.

Tom Dumoulin out (and had a chance of gaining Yellow); Cancellara 'concussed'; race at complete stop - to sort out 'what next'...

    It's a strange one Stan.

I've seen the riders themselves sit up, if a gc contender is involved in a crash. Never seen the organisers neutralize it though.

It's always just been an occupational hazard.

They've stopped the peloton entirely - seen rolling neutralizations before, but not coming to a complete stop - not everyone happy with that

Laurens Ten Dam, William Bonnet, Simon Gerrans have all joined Dumoulin have all abandoned.

Cancellara is not looking good, it seems there might be something up with his vision. He grimaces but hasn't thrown in the towel just yet.

Reports are that the organisers took the decision because all the medical staff were back dealing with those that crashed, leaving none to deal with any problems that might happen up the road.

After a 10 minute delay, the riders are following Prudhomme's car and racing will recommence when they reach the top of the Côte de Bohissau.

Correction. Ten Dam is still in the race.

Ten Dam continuing with a dislocated shoulder.

Race well and truly back on. Splits appearing in the peleton.

    Some hard riding here.
