My guess is that if a transfer is completed before the window opens, the documents are dated as if the transfer had been completed on 1st July, or the first Monday in July if the 1st is a Saturday or Sunday.

Bit of extra info on this - someone on another forum have translated the Roma site news and it appears Roma sold Holebas's sporting rights to the Pozzo's so an unusual situation that we wouldn't come up against in the British football industry. This can be done without the man signing anything.
Seems odd but I guess if it means we get a decent player then so be it (presume its all legal..) However I would worry if Holebas wasn't very keen on coming and he was sort of forced on us - only be unsettled and probably not ready to give his best.
