Off Topic Mafia VIII - Mafia vs Zombies

basically yeah... i found it interesting for next time a few interesting choice points in there made and i think the biggest interest to me is as you all had your own powers you decided what to do on your won most of the time. There was discussion sure.. but funky decided to kill tobes not me on day 2 based on the hunch he was reporter. You were onto mikey and tennis which was good. you choose lucaaas yourself. you never considered me or tennis or mikey to join you.

I think i'd have chosen lucaaaas too as he sees stuff an awful lot.

Yep, I wasn't keen on making our own decisions. I suggested killing Astro on day one but Funky went with AFC (no arguments to be honest). I wasn't on much on day two but I wouldn't have gone with Tobes (was a good choice considering the zombie recruit though). I did say not to kill Astro on day two though, would have been too obvious since I'd been arguing with him all day

I considered every single player for the recruit, I literally sat and went through the player list (you'll know from previous games you've hosted that I do this to see if i pick up a gut feeling about anyone). I just didn't put it in writing.

I didn't get a gut feeling for anyone so decided to use previous games. Reason I didn't pick you was based on Mafia 1 when you had me convinced you were innocent when Mafia. Didn't feel I could trust you. I didn't want to pick a less active player. I would have considered Mikey but for Bobby naming him as one of the random three. In hindsight, I should have picked Astro following our argument on day one.

 

We killed AFC. bod was killed by Lucaaas (SK)

 

Because we knew who he was and were aware of how many bullets Mafia had. Were intending to watch for a day or two to see who supported him (votes/arguments) and who he targeted and those supporting him. That would hopefully give leads as to who to then investigate.

Simples really.

 

My question would be, why investigate me when I was in the three way and under threat of dying?

 

We investigated you day 2. You weren't part of the day 2 lynch mob.

Wouldn't have made a difference, we wanted to know why astro was acting funny and we recruited him day 3

 

Indeed! Initially when I read your board I thought "what ****s killing me because they can't be bothered to read, nothing to do with the actual game" but then when my suspicions were confirmed on the dead board I figured you'd actually killed me on a game I might of been helpful, so despite you lot not realising it, it was a decent kill choice.

Also the fact that me and obis ordinary towns person stuff cast suspicion on you, with you ultimately being investigated and dying, I didn't mind. Funky however will be dying in any game in future I get a killing role, regardless of alignment!

Which would have been even better since he'd have been Mafia aligned had I recruited him instead of Lucaaas. You wouldn't have known.

 

How would that have worked? we would have seen Astro was mafia and gone to lynch him?

First day was used to recruit a detective so we didn't get to investigate anyone

Cop

The cop is known to the town. They have body armour and good reflexes, and thus any attempt to kill them by anyone results in a shoot out. They have access to the police station and thus unlimited bullets.

The cop cannot be recruited by the Mafia, army or masons, but can be bitten by the super zombie. If bitten, the cop cannot resist voting commands, but will remain town aligned unless killed by the serial killer (I'm assuming the town won't flip out and lynch the cop )

The cop has three powers:

- Lock up. The cop can choose to lock up one person each night, protecting them from being killed or infected other than by lynching, and preventing them from using any powers

- Zombie hunting. The cop has the ability to hunt one zombie each night, same deal as the Hitman

- Recruit a detective. The cop can recruit one person to become a detective. This person can investigate someone and find out if they are Mafia or not. They cannot determine if people are zombies or not. The person retains their previous alignment, so may be Mafia or SK

You can only recruit one person. How could you be talking to someone else and still be planning on recruiting...? I suspect PM cheating here




that's a good point. It is easy for a innocent to cheat when there is a known innocent.

 

How would you have seen he was Mafia when recruiting? You are not told the role of the recruits.

And if you used the recruit on the first day, how could you recruit again?

I thought I could get him lynched based on day one activity anyway

Also no point outing Mikey, but it told me Gerrez was guilty

To be clear i meant we investigated Astro 3rd day

 

Shame his argument was full of holes, nobody believed him, he almost set himself up as the target. I had no problems turning the screw as his reasoning was bizarre. His story give us the opportunity to put as much doubt as we wanted on it. And as it happened it was a matter of luck and your mistake which undone us. Great game though. Loved this set up. It's a different every time format.

lucaaas actually posted his opinions last time i had a paper not facts.

I agree its a good format. If we get to see next time how the zombies work out that would be fun. they might or might not be too powerful. i dont know as i don't have experience of such a set up in end game at all.
