Off Topic Mafia VIII - Mafia vs Zombies

Yeah I realised the PM could be used that way at one stage too, when we initially recruited MITO I wasn't totally sure on a couple of details of his story, went to ask Swarbs a rule-related question and then realised I could just talk to Tennis there about MITO if I wanted to but felt like a bit of a loophole.

Not sure if that should perhaps be disallowed in the next game with recruitment, probably didn't do any actual harm to the game but seems to kind of undermine the whole recruitment dynamic where you have to be careful of your trust even with people on your own board.

I said last night gerrez was not on my top 3 list. others had him. I had valley form about 11am day one and he rose consistently so at 9:30 pm i was shooting him on the second day.

I had a list of 3 i published. valley, lucaaas and tennis. I did wsay yesterday i was lucky that valley was in the vote and then lucaaas was no 2.

I also followed tobe's one vote strategy and voted first to see who would jump on it and vote... just to see who'd follow it. Valley, RHC, Sebb. that was just one little thing. then i would look from more stuff and whomever triggers most of the things i was looking became my target.

i then saw some people on at different times and i was watching who was doing certain things I consider as not blundering in. Honestly lucaaaas was unlucky he was not on the newcastle werewolf game. I was on that one and i did the innocent role. TGE over there did what ibwt did on this game so i was watching both obi and ibwt from that point as suspects. but funky and lucaaas but after the time was over both said ithey had no clue when obi posted the number of the post Bod posted. the minute i saw it i went **** and shut up. it was obvious he was using swarbs pm term and any innocent townsperson should be cottoning it. Again just added it to the list.

the other thing i looked for i described yesterday. thats why i went for lucaaas

as i said gerrez was down my list due to his late vote on and off. that i hope was planned as it was a good one.

for today: I had a choice between funky and rhc after thinking about who topped tobes. Who would do it? my view was funky and him got into it before and rhc would do it as a laugh. ergo that was as far as i had got.

I did have a short list of 5 and they were on it though.. as was greez.

the game was pure luck to get it all so fast. It was like dominos for the mafia, some public and some only revealed at the end. Every recruit, kill and tie vote went agains them... and IBWT was unlucky too

 

I think in the end thats a hard call. The nicest thing is for everyone who is interested to be able to see what is what and how the got fooled or found out.

but after a recruit yeah you gotta think your info might be compromised. I dunno. It is a case that you are allow talk so if two team amtes want to talk privately as well...

In the end the rules are the town are not supposed to so if it is in team its ok.

honeslty i was avoiding him as we had a row on a previous game and he had a row with tobes too... and with afc... its kind of.. no good can come of a barney really it attracts attention. I was paying attention but trying to remember not to be my usual clown self answering everything.

I had no reads on anyone bar nolberto the from newcastle as i'm just getting constantly fooled. valley voting for him late meant he had to be clean.

That bit had me fooled. If Valley hadn't lynched himself I would probably have suspected you were a town team working together. However, once Valley went then your connection on the thread pretty much condemned you. I had no idea about Funky though. I was pretty sure you and Obi were the last two mafia.

 

Not sure this is going to go down well with Valley and funky but I also had a PM going with Lucaaas (after he was recruited). This wasn't the most active conversation though, more a case of him asking where I was on Wednesday just before nightfall (when they thought I needed to sanction every action for some reason).

 

@Swarbs Out of curiosity, if I hadn't switched to Gerrez on the army thread who would you have had my investigation of last night? Gerrez from the PM or Astro?

 

Would have been interesting had the freemasons recruited me they were planning. Especially with Lucaaas infiltrating both the zombie and mafia camps as the SK. Proper mind **** potential

Equally, if I'd have recruited Astro (never considered it though) it would have been good too.

The SK, SZ, Hunter, Hitman and Vigilante all targeted you but they all failed because you got lynched first

the spit roasting was IBWT idea though... not mind.

I must say i enjoyed my role as i had the safe knowledge that if any ****er tried it on i had a fighting chance over night. that was good. once i was made as innocent the game was very easy to sit back in then. and once the masons recruited the list of suspects tumbled rapidly.

Some people disagreed, but I allowed groups to use PMs to discuss stuff if they didn't trust their new recruits. I figured it would just add to the general air of suspicion and distrust if people knew their own teammates didn't trust them!

 

When the QT boards were first introduced, I couldn't access it from my phone so used PMs instead (Biscan will confirm as it was the two Mafia team game when we were KGB). They must have changed something though because I can get to the QT boards from my phone now.

 

I wouldn't say we were planning to recruit you (would've been mayhem if we had though!), Tennis mused on it once but quickly changed his mind and I wouldn't have agreed to it if he hadn't. Especially not after last game!
