He is the only one I have seen a bit of and although he has done nothing wrong he is not Madrid class and it shows.

He is certainly good enough for Madrid - the issue is, he's competing against the likes of Modric, Kroos and I think Casemiro will be returning who is more of a ball winning midfielder than holding mid which is how Rafa loves.

Kroos is not quite up to it either, when Modric was injured Madrid looked like they had no midfield at all (though Isco is starting to show his worth).

There was no balance in that midfield under Ancelotti. Real Madrid are one of the few teams to have won a major tournament without using a proper DM in the midfield but as we've seen since, it;s unsustainable.

which is fair. they have a huge pool of affiliate players and its a very high standard they ask for.. kroos playing alomost dm is crazy for them. that doesn't work. vidal has gone there now too so that opens up a few moves

oh i dunnoo.. the won little under mourninho with alonso there.. no seriously they have it pretty easy as a one from two type of winning scenario so i really think their CL win was more down to it just being their year than what they have really done. I feel bayern royally screwed up with pep guardiola. its masked as they have a dominant position too.

Didn't know Vidal had gone there, I thought it was still just linked to?

Pep has definitely sent Bayern backwards, all the power has gone out of them.

    Fowler rates Benteke:

“The striker issue is a big thing,” Fowler told the ECHO.

“We didn’t have anyone who scored 10 Premier League goals last year and I can’t remember the last time that happened at Liverpool.

“It’s important we get a proven goalscorer and of the names being bandied about I’d go for Benteke. I think he’s excellent.

“I know there are other top strikers out there and probably more prolific scorers. But in terms of all-round play - strength, speed, physicality, finishing - I think Benteke could be the main man for Liverpool.”

“I’ve watched him a lot and he’s not just a targetman,” Fowler said.

“He can hold the ball well and bring others into play but he’s also mobile and keeps defenders on their toes.

“Before he got his injury I was very impressed with him and I was hoping we would sign him then. He had a slow start after getting back fit but under Tim Sherwood his form was superb.

“I think he’s ideal for the way Brendan wants to play. It’s probably what we lacked at times last season. We had forwards who wanted to drop deep to get involved with the play and we always had that gap up front.

“With a Benteke type, you have someone who will stay up there and stretch defenders. If you have someone who stretches the defence and makes the pitch bigger there’s a lot more space for the likes of Firmino, Coutinho and Henderson to run into.

“When you’ve got players who want to drop deep all the time, you’re easier to mark as a team. When forwards drop into Coutinho’s position, it makes it harder for him to get on the ball.

“Liverpool’s game isn’t all about getting down the line and whipping crosses in, it’s about movement but I think Benteke has got that.

“I can’t stress enough how important it is that we get a forward like that - someone to make the pitch big. It’s vital for us because it brings others into the game.”

If Liverpool paid the release clause Benteke would become the second most expensive signing in the club’s history. The price tag wouldn’t put Fowler off.

“That’s for the clubs to sort out,” he added.

“A big thing is made out of the price but that’s doesn’t concern me.

“If a player is good enough, he’s good enough and I believe Benteke is.

“He scores goals, he’s a threat and a real handful for defenders. Being honest, I think he’s probably the perfect player for us.''

he got raped by west ham under simple high ball to back stick. Manquillo was alright.. just alright. The defenders of flanagan will like this but really.. I failed to see the point of manquillo after about 4/5 games as he was no better than flanagan

Liverpool FC have signed highly-rated Barcelona starlet Bobby Adekanye.

The 16-year-old left-sided winger, who was also coveted by PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, confirmed the move to Anfield himself on Instagram and will join up with the club’s Academy.

He wrote: “I am very happy to sign for Liverpool.”

Adekanye was born in Nigeria but was brought up in Holland after his parents moved to Amsterdam when he was four, and also has Spanish links.

He was available as a free agent after being caught up in a dispute between Barcelona and FIFA over the recruitment of youngsters to their highly-acclaimed La Masia Academy.

FIFA ruled that Adekanye was signed illegally from Ajax at the age of 12 in 2011 and he was banned from taking part in competitive games for Barcelona. As a result last season he was sent out on loan to PSV, who had hoped to make the transfer permanent.

Barcelona wanted him to stay in Holland until the row had been resolved but with no solution in sight the youngster has decided to cut his ties with the Catalan giants,

Skilful, left-footed and blessed with great pace, Adekanye has plenty of potential, and has been compared to Arjen Robben.

    -

Barcelona got a transfer ban for illegally signing him and now he's ****ed off and joined us.

Any news about Luis Alberto? We've heard a bit about the others of that window (Aspas sold, Ilori to fight for his place) but what's happening to this guy?

Hopefully binned too. Actually that sounds harsh when he's no worse that Joe Allen. They should both be sold.
