Article about how the tourist trade in Tunisia has (unsurprisingly) suffered. I feel for the locals who have seen their livelihoods destroyed. IS is against practically everything....even destroying ancient sites because they consider an interest in civilisation is anti-Islamic. What exactly do they intend for the future if they win over an area and enter a period of peace? How do they think people will earn a living, especially as they are against education (apart from studying the Koran)?

I found it lovely even in the rain...my fondest memory is frying an egg on a small camping stove and eating it with beans in the car. Absolutely delicious. As was a hazelnut meringue bought in a small cake shop....have never seen them anywhere else. Best to see Scotland now before the wall goes up. :)

I'm not normally one to read the Telegraph, but I picked up someone's copy last Sunday and read this article. Seemed to explain the cult of ISIS well - they seem bent on all human destruction - scary!

Oh I wish I was free this weekend! I had a look at the lineup and it does look good, but I've committed myself to a million things I couldn't get out of. Thanks for the offer though LTL, and I hope Herself gets the appreciation she deserves.

Nobody taken me up on this yet Chilcs! Is no one up for a free festival (the entrepreneurial might want to try and flog the tickets, but unfortunately they're under a name!)

Wall! <yikes> Hope not we love it up there. Going back in September. Don't usually return to the same cottage but this one has a couple of Pine Martens which are partial to jam sandwiches which are great to watch. One of them comes right up to the window.

Thanks Dave, there were some people from Holland staying at the pub and they couldn't believe the quality of the music being played (and the sound production of course <whistle>), and all for free!

    Have a great holiday!

When I lived in Dorking, we had a squirrel that knocked on the window for attention. Of course we have lovely red squirrels on the Island...saw one just yesterday. It reminded me of an incident from last summer. I was in a birdhide where people sometimes fed the squirrels judging by the peanut shells lying around, when a squirrel approached and stared at me. He then went away and came back carrying a nut which he held up....I think he thought I was so obtuse that I hadn't realised that he wanted a nut, so he was showing me an example.

Red squirrels are so much cuter than grey ones. We get loads of grey ones (up to about 9 sometimes) in our garden all charging about. Drives the dog mad but the cat just ignores them. He has better things to do.

Innately intelligent enough to realise it hasn't a hope in hell of catching them or just too well fed.?

Not sure who'd win out of a cat and a squirrel. Only one way to find out. Can you arrange a bout, Whiteley?

I think he has tried and failed to catch one. Now he's old enough to know better. He prefers mice. If someone gets a new kitten they chase the squirrels about but soon learn. Who would win? Hard to say I wouldn't like to get in a battle with either! All teeth and claws.

Just remembered. We had a small female cat who brought a dead squirrel home once. Never knew if she caught it or just came across it. If she caught it it was pretty impressive as it was nearly as big as her. Nice present for us.

you have an inherent hatred for the grey ones because they are the American immigrants who have outstayed their welcome. the red ones are native to the uk.

I recently got a cat, all of a sudden he is comfortable outdoors and now brings me voles as 'presents', 8 in the last 3 days! Unfortunately 2 have been alive and he has let them go indoors. Not too much bother as you can just get him interested again and he catches them within minutes.. Gives mum a heart attack every time she sees one though

Yep, she's on at 20:45. Gotta be some use to having a music person on here!

    Enjoy AC/DC!
