Whispers about a French/Algerian who has played for Congo.....Amine Linganzi 25 yrs old....played for Gillingham last season....has a patchy career record....6ft 1in mid-fielder. I hope it is just a rumour he doesn't sound as if he will be lighting any fires.
Talking about Gillingham there was some talk about Reid and them but I see they have just signed a forward so guess that one is put to bed. Don't they all have a patchy career record. If they didn't they would be snapped up much higher up the food chain than us. We rely on patchy and coming good for a season down here. If we sign anyone I'm more interested in what they do on the pitch than their career stats elsewhere. Proves nothing and once we've signed them then it's a bit late to be worried.
We have had plenty of [patchy players in our time so about time we got a half decent one.. who will help us get out of this league...
I'm a great believer in players being judged on what they do currently not previously or afterwards. The story books at most clubs are littered with signings who have come with great reputations and failed as well as average sorts who shine for them and become legendary. Just a couple of examples are Friio for us and Bollaise for somebody else. I've always maintained that Managers who produce what we would call great sides, Sturrock's first as an example, are lucky to hit on the right mix and personalities. No great stars but look what they achieved. Few of those were great elsewhere particularly.
Well not to many choice snippets since being away....no sign of Hartley taking up is extended offer yet. PS.....I see the whole squad will be out of contract at the same time in June next year.....not to clever really....need to change some of those during the season or it could get dodgy.
I thought Hartley was already extended. My head tells me he did it right at the end of the season for some reason.
Well thats good sensible if it is so........last years wording said that Hartley was given a one year contract and the club to extend for a further year if they wanted to.....they have offered that further year.....does that mean it's done and dusted....or are we waiting for Hartley to accept that year....or is he looking elsewhere in the meanwhile ? That leaves Anthony O'Connor who has been offered a new contract, to make his mind up.....it is known that he would like to get back to Div 1 so is he is hanging on......but it is July now and he is a free agent since the 1st....so have we lost him?

We must have faith and believe in the new guy to get us going from the off this time and keep it going throughout.. He is a bit more livelier than the last one... No, that is incorrect. The boss says he wants most of the squad assembled before pre season (Monday) so 2 tomorrow is a decent guess.... met him very very briefly today,- seems like a pleasant chap.
