Is anyone else annoyed that we've still sold 70% of season tickets?

I really don't understand why we're selling very many season tickets at all.

Why give your money to a club with no ambition? That will build your hopes up simply to sell them at the first sign of 15-20m?

That could very well push in the top 8 but chooses to stay in low-mid table simply for a sound financial standing?

Why would you give money to that? I don't understand.

Is it that most fans are just loyal regardless of the fact that there's literally no hope? Or were they seriously convinced Ashley was serious and that we're gonna spend 60m and push for an FA cup final and make it in the top 6?

Until signings are made, no one should be buying season tickets!

Bit of a falsehood the st sales as mine is one of the x amount of years plan they rolled out when I was at uni so I was locked in until Jan regardless. I may jack it in then but I can't make that decision until December. So I don't see the point of getting angry about it. Now I just get apathetic if anything. But I would like to be pleasantly Surprised by signings

No, each fan is entitled to their own view and it is only divisive to try and insist that everyone agrees with your view (not you personally Tash).

Plus my season ticket renewal was in Jan/Feb of this year, well before a lot of people started campaigning for people not to renew.

Each to their own. I'm not sure how much bearing any of it has on Mike's plans. That is my personal view. Anything that happens this summer was always going to happen. I'm a bit cynical so yeah I do probably think his TV appearance was about getting tickets renewed. Not in a desperate way though in the way some think, more in a "I want that money too" kind of way. I do think the board "changes" are pretty much a nothing gesture at present.

It will all come out in the fullness of time what the intentions are. I think in the meantime people will just do what they are gonna do. Watching your team is a difficult habit to kick.

The proof will be in the pudding - Obi will let us know once he has finished it.

Or maybe, just maybe not all NUFC fans are whingey, whiney, moany ****ers and have a tad bit of optimism! Either that or they actually want to watch us play next season regardless of what happens off the piitch!

No issue at all for me.
I'm locked in till Jan so will see how things pan out but I'm a sucker for the Toon so will most likely renew again as long as we haven't imploded.
I just can't imaging not going to SJP every other week.
    Just my view though.

I think that is a bit harsh on the moaners. Personally I don't really care anymore, but I can understand why people would be massively upset at spending hard earned cash to support their club, and then see us run like a 2 bit 2nd hand shop. I can also understand those who can't afford to go but simply want the best for their club, but have owners who don't. As long as the product being sold is value then that is fine. When it isn't and its not just through bad luck, but more because of incompetence and simply not caring enough about your paying customers, then no, that's not really alright.

The last bit is true though, many are passive and just see supporting their team as something they do.

Let's just put it this way, the longer this **** goes on, the less and less people are going to be attending games, and rightly so. The dichotomy is simple, there's an element of supporting the shirt, and there's the realisation the shirt has Wonga plastered on it, and some championship churny player underneath it.

I'm not disappointed that 70% have renewed, I'm disappointed that the attendance is dropping because all the enthusiasm is being sucked out of the club by lying arseholes.

Why get annoyed over what others do?
Down to the individual whether they go or not, it's no business of anyone else.

Not sure what there is to be annoyed about. A club who had a waiting list of some 15,000 a decade or so ago now has a 15,000 ticket deficit; it's a significant swing. Bear in mind as well these are still club figures; I read somewhere that they are still fudging even these numbers. Once a player or two come in, the tickets will sell, but it's enough of a statement and I hope the club acts - we all want a full stadium with decent players under a good manager trying to win every game. That's it.

    go, don't go, who cares?
if people want to moan, whine on or whatever, that's up to them.
it doesn't bother or annoy me what others choose to do

I never said anyone had to agree with me did I? I'm saying I can't understand why people wouldn't wait to see what comes in the door before investing 500+ quid on a season ticket.

Don't you all start with this whole "tash can't accept other people's opinions crap", this is old, and I'll destroy you in any conceivable argument on the subject as I have done many times before.

If you all want to just blindly throw your money away regardless, be my ****ing guest, but don't criticise me and tell me I can't handle others opinions just because I'm voicing my own.

I'm not saying don't buy a season ticket, I'm saying I can't understand why, given the recent history, people wouldn't hold off and buy a ticket for more rational reasons rather than just blind faith.

You know, there are other things to spend hundreds of pounds on, like you're ****ing families and futures.

But no, go and throw it away blindly hoping things get better. See if I care.

    LOL

Firstly, I wasn't having a go at you Tash. Hence the "not you personally Tash" part of my comment. I was just saying as a general rule that each fan is entitled to their own view without having to be subject to criticism for holding that view.

Secondly, I was just answering the question YOU posed in the title to the thread.

No need to be so defensive.

I buy a season ticket cos it's an excuse to get away from the wife and get pissed.
It also allows me to meet lots of lovely people of here. And Obi.
