Does make you wonder what's going on, all I can think he(SB) has in his opinion better lined up only time will tell.
They weren't "allowed to leave" or "got rid of" or anything like that. Their contracts with us came to an end. Where we offered extensions/new contracts they decided to look elsewhere and have moved on. Good luck to them. People do this all the time. You apply for another job, get offered it and move on. Sometimes your boss may counter offer, but even then, usually, you say "Nah" and move on. Quinn may have been offered a longer contract, or more money or both by Reading. It is highly unlikely he moved on whim or because he didn't like Steve Bruce or someone on here calling him a leprechaun. Bullard came to us because we offered him a longer contract (more fool us). Just hope Quinn, Rosey, and Macca turn out better for Brighton and Reading than he did for us. I expect they will, because they're not ****s, but I don't blame them for going, or Steve Bruce or the club for limiting the offers we made. That's life.
He was probably waiting for us to get relegated before he signed it, giving him half a chance of actually getting a game.
Philip Buckingham @PJBuckingham Bristol City suggesting they talked with #hcafc over Harry Maguire but made no formal bid.
Breaking news: Reading sign defender Paul McShane on a three-year contract following his release by Hull City. McShane, 29, becomes the club's third signing in the space of four days following deals for striker Orlando Sa and midfielder Stephen Quinn. The Republic of Ireland international has Premier League experience with Hull, Sunderland and West Brom.
Lol. Well that worked out well then. Seriously, I hope he gets game time at Brighton, he's good enough, and I hope his contract there keeps him in style until he's ready to come back to us in a coaching capacity. On a more serious note, your point is a good one. There must be loads of players out there who are on the cusp of two divisions, not quite good enough in one but too good for the other. A difficult choice to make. Look at Harper for example. Good Bloke, great goalie, but spent a career on the bench of a top flight team. Would he have been better off playing a record number of games in the Championship for someone? Who can tell, but he made his choice and seems comfortable with it.
Can someone with photo editing skills photoshop his picture with Ginger locks, so we can see how he'll look next season?
Aparrently Tombides was with West Ham. Presumably he was related to Dylan Tombides, the West Ham youngster who died of cancer last year?
