    New age religion
The New Age movement is a religious or spiritual movement that developed in Western nations during the 1970s. Precise scholarly definitions of the movement differ in their emphasis, largely as a result of its highly eclectic structure
Traditional churches like Roman Catholic and Church of England not that bad. They do their things in moderation.

    In third world countries maybe
Ok so this is where I leave the conversation.
Absolutely no point in continuing this conversation if that is your mindset because we will agree on very little.
    Adieu :p

(We probably also never should have started this in the first place)

It's too big a blanket statement to make. Religious fanatics take full responsibility for their actions. Doing it in the name of 'something' or 'someone' isn't passing off responsibility, it's providing a reason for why they're doing it which isn't the same thing at all.

My 'mindset' isn't displayed in that comment to uir. Believe it or not I was being devil's advocate [sorry about the puns]. If you read it as me saying 'let's have some more education to ensure it survives' - you misinterpreted my intent <ok>

Nah, I am definitely a winter person me.
Much prefer to whack my heating on, make a nice cup of tea and watch TV under the duvet, than sit there butt ass naked, sweating like mad, unable to breathe, with all the windows and doors open so millions of insects can invade your house and all the neighbours can see in.

Ironically, as an atheist, my favourite time of year is Christmas.
Cold weather, decent TV specials, lots of junk food and pretty lights

But your pigeon hole view would mean that bi-sexuals (of either gender) simply don't exist.

You're looking at the issue solely from your own sexual perspective, for many their sexuality isn't black and white at all, and they do make sexual choices, which you said wasn't possible.

hahaha, I was waiting for that response <laugh>

Despite my comments on the fluidity of sexuality, I'm definitely not a lover of the man sausage.

    Its not impossible.
    Lesbians do it.
Bi sexuals again, naturally swing both ways, (thats men btw not women, there is no scientific evidence to support homosexuality in women as anything other than a lifestyle choice).
They are attracted to men and women, not by choice.

So a bi-sexual woman choosing to have sex with a woman is a lifestyle choice, but a bi-sexual man doing the same thing has no choice?

That's complete bullshit mate sorry <laugh>

Strangely, I find that women as far less squeamish about the thought of another girl than we are about other dudes.

my own Mrs has said she'd bang Charlize Theron <laugh>

Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Homosexuality in men is a proven fact, at a hormonal level.
No such evidence in women I am afraid. Again, do some research.

Figures I found the other day
84% of women who identify as "lesbian" have had sexual experiences, as an adult, with men
17% of men who are gay have had sexual experiences, as an adult, with women.

    Thats quite a difference.
This doesnt count Bi sexual people, as presumably 100% of bi sexuals will have had sexual encounters with both genders.
This is purely for men and women who identify as Homosexual.
    How do you explain that?
Men are gayer than women I am afraid (now thats a line I never envisioned saying).
This is back up by lower testosterone levels and higher estrogen levels in gay men.
No such imbalance in women, its all by choice.

    ****ing Hell <laugh>

The irony of that comment is hilarious

If being gay was due to a hormone imbalance it would make it a treatable syndrome you complete flute.

    ffs you melt.
Gayness isnt caused by the hormonal imbalance, the hormonal imbalance is a side effect of it.

Just wondering Bod - have you ever actually asked a lesbian whether her sexuality was a choice or her nature?

    What utter pish.

There's no definitve research that says hormonal imbalance is a 'side effect' of being gay ffs.

Testosterone levels vary in gay men the same as it does in straight men you complete bulb.

Hence the reason you can get strapping 6ft 4" rugby players who are gay.

    Can't say that I have.
But given that their whole "thing" is to posture and pout and say "if men can be gay then so can we" I wouldn't expect an honest answer.

I suppose I am not ruling out the possibility of there being women who are just genetically attracted to the same sex. Never say never.
Just that there is little evidence for it, and if such women exist, they are in a much much much MUCH lower number than homosexual men.

which school of thought do you belong to Tobes, out of interest?
Hereditary Epignetic links (bi-marks inherited from opposite gender parents)? Nurture over nature (People can be MADE gay or raised to be gay)? Or just that people choose to be gay?
