Off Topic Mafia VIII - Mafia vs Zombies

We haven't learned anything. However, I think a few people will be building up suspicions. I have a couple I'm suspicious of - but nothing more than suspicions.

I tried google translate and no, it came up as a load gobbleygook.

 

True, always hope to strike lucky and lynch a baddie day 1 while the SK gets someone else as well.

Looks like there is an infected, need to see how that works. Are they on the zombie team just without being a zombie etc? Need to re-read over the rules there.

Not much else to read from it from what I can think.. couple looked suspicious with their dodgy voting but we still ended up with the 3 people named by Bobby, so not sure what we read into that?

Journalist

The town's resident hack. He publishes a paper every morning, based on his investigations every night. He can investigate one person each night and find if they are Mafia or not, but cannot identify zombies.


So this would suggest that the journo could investigate tonight, but the quick turn around suggests that the morning paper was written before the investigation hence no real news (unless it's hidden and missing it?)

In which case, should have some info tomorrow from Journo?

 

It almost didn't work out ok though.
that said, ACS and Bod were part of the reason for the late confusion, so that doesn't help us. Although there was some suspiscious looking behaviour before that.

 

Valley is the one from it that has caught most suspicion. Doesn't mean too much, but he did throw in a few curve balls and then told ACS to change his vote to someone random that had an effect on Mikey...

Not too much to go on but interested to hear from Valley what that was really all about?

 

And Mafia stole cash, so does thaf msan they can't gave hacked the paper tonight! Not that it seems to tell us much? Unless someone can crack the language.

Which would have put Tobes in the mix and taken Mikey out I believe...

 

Ah, that would be a nice touch by Swarbs; a little bit of leaked info the night before the full story is released.

Swarbs said it was a very open game with no secrets though so unlikely. I think it's probably coded which, if true, gives us a clue as to who the journo is too.

think about all the info thats just been dumped on your laps

first ACS didnt really try to save himself. what was doing on with mikey and valley etc etc

second what does the day break info tell you. there is lots there

third. an infected is loose, look out for someone getting forced to do something. any lynches from now on have to take care you are not making a second biting zombie

fourth. look at the newspaper. what do you make of it.. the greek **** seems just a string. google translate made nothing of it. it could be some sort of code to prove its real or complete balls.

 

From what I gather, they used one of their bullets (originally had 2?) and stole 10k..so have 1 bullet left and 10k?

Doesn't look like it costs them to hack the paper, and given they would know the paper wouldn't have any real info on it (and it doesn't say much) iId have thought todays paper was 100% legit.

 

The Mafia recruited too. Three actions in one night...? Surely they could do four and hack the paper too...?

I had already called out that he (snd AFC, I know, not trying to cover my arse) looked dodgy sitting on Astro end encouraging others to vote away from Bobby's list.

does the following mean the thief can ONLY choose 1 of the options, or as many as they like?

The Thief

The thief has light fingers and a skilled touch. He has three options for each night:

1. Rob a store in town, netting the Mafia a cool risk free $10,000

2. Break into the newspaper and hack tomorrow's paper. This can be done twice, but not on consecutive nights. The first time has a 100% chance of success. The second time has a 100% chance of success, but a 50% chance the thief is identified by the journo on the CCTV they installed after the first hack. After the second time, the computer security is upgraded and the thief can no longer hack the paper

3. Rob the police station. This gains two bullets for the Mafia. However if the cop is in the police station at night then they have a 50% chance to kill the thief, and if the hunter tries to rob the police station on the same night, they have a 50% chance to kill the thief

 

The paper will always be published after the investigation results have been provided to the journalist. That's the only paper which will be published until daybreak on day 3.

Posts #7 and #8 have been updated with details of last night and today.

 

The thief can only perform one action each night. Rules are one action per player, not per team.

Last night the Mafia don recruited, the hitman killed and the thief stole cash. Those were the three actions.

 

If I was saving mikey why did I vote him to drag him into the three way tie? My following post explains it.
