That was great, I love Stevie. Beyoncé is pretty spectacular isn't she, both vocally and visually, and Sheerin was OK too. I really liked the other guitarist too, didn't catch his name?

Anyone doing anything good with the extra leap second we get tonight.

Thought I will watch portsmouths 2014/15 season highlights but anyone got any better suggestions to spend the time?

James Ward 2-1 up. Looks a good player...he needs to make that next step up by being more consistent.

Balls.! Just burnt my left hand with hot olive oil. Jeez, it smarts. Fingers are in cold water while I type with my right hand.

    Expected jokes to follow. :)

Supper's going to be good though.

Neo-Brit Bedene puts out Stepanek in 5 sets. He's jumped over James Ward to be our No. 2, but isn't eligible for the Davis Cup (subject to appeal).

I can't remember the last time so many Brits got through the first round! Brilliant for their rankings, apart from Murray obviously.

Oh my lordy.! Roasted garlic.! With fish, chips and mayonnaise [of course]. And mushy peas.

    I'm in heaven.

Oooh yeah. They are one of those foods that smell delicious while they're roasting and then they actually deliver sumptuous flavour in spades.

My eldest brother [who can be such a prissy, prudish twerp at times] used to say, Oh, you won't have any friends with garlic.
My answer has always been that if you don't like garlic, the friendship is almost certainly out. Or f*** 'em then. Whichever comes to my mind first. :)

I know. I always keep half a dozen bulbs in the drawer just to be on the safe side.

    Yes, bulbs not cloves.

John Noakes has been found uninjured in a storm drain in Majorca. Dementia in all its forms brings so much tragedy into families. My elderly Uncle had it, but also a friend in her late forties. She rapidly forgot everyone and could not be left alone with her grandchildren. Such a cruel disease.
