The US has always been a wholly secular government <ok> .. It was set up as separate church and state so that religion would never interfere with government.

    Yup, that was the plan.

Didn't quite work out that way though did it <laugh>

I believe it even states in the constitution that no religion shall ever be created based on the constitution or dictate its rules, yet still, they have the Republican Party.

People are poor, they want miracle, and there is no social security .If Asia and Africa become developed people are going to think rationally.

Are you implying that Asians and Africans are underdeveloped and not thinking rationally? Are you also implying that rational people would not be religious? Seems a strange statement from someone who I thought was religious.

That is 100% what I feel, not just implying, but flat out saying.
There is too much evidence against it for me to believe otherwise.

Not quite. It says legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof'.

You're reading it wrong. To paraphrase, as an absolute minimum. the Establishment Clause [as it's known] was intended to prohibit the federal government from declaring and financially supporting a national religion, such as existed in other countries at the time, like ours, that has a national religion.

Lots of atheists oppose abortion and gay marriage. Lots of gays oppose gay marriage - check out facebook <laugh>

    I get ya yeah.
I read is as "make no laws in respect of an established religion"
rather than establishment of a religion.
