I'm not sure that's true. Islam is growing at a very fast rate. ''If current demographic trends continue, by 2050 the number of Muslims around the world, 2.8 billion, or 30 per cent of the population, will nearly equal the number of Christians, 2.9 billion, or 31 per cent. The study shows that all of the world's major religious groups are poised for at least some growth in the coming decades with one exception - Buddhism. Surprisingly, given the trend towards secularisation in the UK at least, atheists, agnostics and other people who do not affiliate with any religion, will make up a declining share of the world's total population. However, non-believers will increase in absolute numbers. It will merely appear as a proportionate decline because the growth among religious believers will be so much greater.'' http://www.globalreligiousfutures.org./
The organisation who did that research isn't religious, in case you thought it was. ABOUT PEW RESEARCH CENTER Pew Research Center is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping America and the world. It conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, media content analysis and other empirical social science research. Pew Research does not take policy positions. It is a subsidiary of The Pew Charitable Trusts.
I think practising Christians are on the decline. The amount of people who self identify as Christian may not. As far as Muslims go, they are in the unenviable position of having a lot of the world hating on them, I don't think it will be long before the **** hits the fan. I truly believe the next big war will be a religious one. And at the end of this war, once the dust has settled, people will see the folly of it and put it away for good.
Christian believes that Jesus is the son of God while Muslim believes that Jesus was not the son God. Because God had no son. Jesus was only a prophet like Mohammed, The Old Testament and Quran do not defer. According to Christian believe no one can go to heaven except through Jesus.
The number of people identifying as Atheist is on the rise. Obviously Japan, with its state mandate against religion is No.1. But all across Europe and America it is on the rise. Also most of central Europe now have secular governments, even the US, which was made to be a secular country (thanks to religious persecution), but then went Christian crazy, is becoming more secular. Supreme Court rulings in favour of Gay marriage is testament to this.
My Life Experience: I have seen some people who are atheist that are much better than religious people. Nevertheless being a believer of something should not make you a bad person.
I would agree with most of that. Although a secular government doesn't have to mean a secular populace. As I said, I think that the growth (if any) in Christianity (ignoring other religions) would be more in Africa and Asia. The phrasing of the bit in bold made me smile though - typical Yank geography skills.
Highlight the whole sentence and you will see what i meant Secular governments dont necessarily mean secular populaces no, but it does mean secular governing, secular laws. I think having religion dictate the law of your land is ****ing insane
That research I posted says all of that but religions will still account for more people globally than non-religion. ''However, non-believers will increase in absolute numbers. It will merely appear as a proportionate decline because the growth among religious believers will be so much greater.''
