Who will will this time round, will it be a grey car? Will it be a tri-star car? Or will it be a car called Mercedes? Who knows, but at least we'll have a crowd at a race finally. After dwindling numbers at various circuits this year Silverstone is a sellout with 140,000 expected for raceday. Quick Bernie, better cancel the event!

Hamilton for me. Home race, and he'll be on a mission to put Nico back in his box.

Alonso might as well take Saturday off.

Honda confirmed: "We believe that Fernando's power unit has sustained damage from the accident & it may be necessary to change the engine."

    To add to his issues....

#F1 Silverstone fuel consumption per lap: Lotus 1,9kg / McLaren 2,5kg. Data from both teams official race previews. Not sure how accurate.

I hope for McLarens sake they are very inaccurate guesses.

Right, got my tickets booked for Stowe and despite the inevitable Mercedes win I'm really mega excited. First time going though so I do have some question that hopefully any Silverstone Veterans on here will be able to help with...

1 - How much cash should I take?
2 - Is the traffic bad going up on Thursday, coming home Sunday night?
3 - Is your seat reserved for just the race or for the entire weekend?
4 - When do the drivers do their signing sessions?
5 - What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
6 - Are there any seemingly harmless things that I probably shouldn't do?

1 - depends on how much you want to spend, I went one year and spent £8 buying the discount dregs of some memorabilia. Don't usually spend much there, just take supplies and you're mostly sorted.
2 - Thursday's mostly fine. Sunday... well... you may be stationary for some time so don't bother rushing to the cars!
3 - I think that varies, may need correcting on that. I'd say all 3 days.
4 - Teams do Thursday afternoon sometimes I think? Then there's probably a main one Saturday afternoon? I'm sure it's always changing.
    5 - 37.6kph
6 - Sit in protest on an apex

    Have fun!!!!

1 - How much cash should I take? (ALOT - Food & Drink is expensive)
2 - Is the traffic bad going up on Thursday, coming home Sunday night? (Thursday/Friday wont be too bad - the weekend will be awful. Stay at track for a few hours)
3 - Is your seat reserved for just the race or for the entire weekend? (Tickets are normally roaming (Try different track areas) for practise and then seated/Numbered for the weekend)
4 - When do the drivers do their signing sessions? (Friday I think and then selected drivers after Quali - normally focused on home teams or drivers)
5 - What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? (European Swallow 20 g ≈ 18 Hz? ≈ 18 cm: European Swallow ≈ 28–30 cm ≈ 14 Hz? ≈ 23 cm: We can estimate the airspeed of the European Swallow to be roughly 11 meters per second (15 beats per second * 0.73 meters per beat).
6 - Are there any seemingly harmless things that I probably shouldn't do? Don't urinate in the handbag to the right - always start on the left first!

Ham to bounce back? Have voted for him, but would love to see the Ferrari's give the Mercs a hard time... maybe even split them...

hopefully the heat will increase rather than fade away as we come closer to sunday, I think high track temps is the only way the merc will struggle.
My prediction is booing if Tiny Tim doesn't win.

Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button took a combined 50-place grid penalty at the Austrian GP and their respective crash and technical retirement in the race means both drivers face more engine changes at this weekend's British GP, although it remains to be seen whether McLaren Honda will revert to old power units and therefore escape any further grid demotions

Thanks guys. Just about to leave from Bristol for the 2 hour journey, I guess £300 should be enough to take for me and the girlfriend?
