Question 1. Are you a winner? If you answer 'yes' skip question two. Question 2. Have you played for Liverpool? How we conduct winning transfers.
Sky are reporting that United have bid 28.6million pounds for Ramos (equates to 40million euros). This is an unusual tactic by Ed Wood Wood Wood as previously they said we'd had a bid of 32million pounds rejected. Alternatively the reports of the first bid could have been speculative bollox.
We must have offered him a HUGE salary. Let's be honest, as much as I consider Manchester to be god's own city and United to be the greatest football club in the world, he'd be giving up Madrid and this current Real Madrid team!
Spanish clubs pay their defenders very poorly, all the big money goes to strikers. I would be amazed if he was on more than £75k
True. He'd find 200k a week hard to turn down. And as I keep saying the pound is strong against the euro so his 200k GBP is equivalent to 280k euros. Mad money.
To be fair I hadn't considered that despite previously predicting that FSW's appointment would lead to player unrest.
"Ramos has told Madrid directly that he is absolutely and completely committed to leaving the club this summer, that he specifically wants them to begin negotiations with Manchester United and that he doesn't want them to negotiate with anybody except Manchester United. “It is a very firm display of intention from Manchester United. In Ramos they want someone who will form part of a firm spine of the team, who knows how to win, who has experience of winning, adding character and talent to what we saw was a regeneration under Louis van Gaal last season. "Ramos is the focal point of that development and that's why they have made the bid. Real Madrid can be under no illusions that Ramos wants to go to Manchester United and he expects them to comply.”
That's all very well Diego but are you quoting yourself or someone with some first hand knowledge of this?
Ok so we can safely say Schneiderlin and Ramos are done deals with Benzema and Schweinsteiger looking very close
Tbf nobody has a fcking clue what's going on...that probably includes Woodward. You just have to look at the news on Schneiderlin in the last half hour to realise the football media are a bunch of clueless c*nts!
It's nice for us to have Real Madrid backed into a corner for a change regarding one of their first team players. Giving them a taste of their own medicine. He's won everything he can with Madrid, so he's probably looking for a new challenge, and who better to come to than the biggest club in England. The current offer of 28.6 million is plenty enough for a 29 year old defender, we don't want to be paying anymore than that. I think the deal will likely end up being a straight swap with De Gea though
Not quite. According to Ronald Koeman yesterday we haven't received a serious bid from Man Utd yet. Make a proper bid and no doubt he will be all yours.
Interesting prospect that if Ramos comes, De Gea might stay to forge a better playing relationship with his international team mate. If the reports are true that Ramos has specifically asked RM to negotiate a transfer this window, but only with us, this could yet influence De Gea to stay. I just think that with only a handful of quality keepers available, and with most of those seemingly ready to be sealed in the coming days - it doesn't seem that we have been particularly active in the market for a replacement for De Gea. Wishful thinking perhaps. On the plus side, both Ramos and De Gea have sufficient hair to meet the latest criteria for hirsute new signings/first team squad.
